Dual filament aux low/high beam.

Let me explain to you what I am running first. I have a hella HID projector inside each of my headlight capsules which provides me with the low beam light for me car. I had no room for high beams so I am running the Blazer 2600's to come on when I switch to hi-beams.

This combination works great, but I was wondering if there is a driving light that accepts dual filament (H4 maybe) bulbs, so I could have the HIDs on and my low beam driving lights, but then the when I "hit the brights" the driving lights turn into brights. Understand?

Anyone know of such a light. I'm looking for something rectangular no larger than a Hella 550.

Thanks!!

Here's an idea of what I'm talking about. But I would rather the fog light be a low beam driving light...

You mean like this?

The light fixtures themselves are pretty crappy (AutoPal), but if you could just get the frames & mounts and then install a set of 4 X 6 Bosch or Cibie or Hella H4 high/low fixtures in the frames, that'd be a good setup for what you have in mind.

Yes, that is a good idea and I will keep it in mind, but I am definintely looking for something a little smaller. About the size of my Blazer 2600's or just a tad larger.

Well, there are several reasons why the BlazerTech 2600 light works as well as it does, considering its small (2 X 6) size; the bulb is an H2, probably the most efficient filament bulb ever made. The 2nd reason is the dedicated reflector that only has to deal with a single parabolic focal point. If you design a light with a multi-filament bulb and a compromised focus, or have 2 smaller reflectors with 2 bulbs in that small a frontal area, neither would work very well, and the result would be mostly a "cosmetic" light, in that neither light source would project much light down the road.
