I was looking at the mounting tab for the Hella 90mm H9 unit, and it looks like it could be turned and locked into place so the mounting screw doesn't move back or forth. But when I try to turn the black tab, it does not budge. Anyone has any ideas?

Its been a while since I used those adjusters, but that should work. try rotating 90 degrees and then reinsert.

So the tabs ARE supposed to rotate to lock in place? I tried that, but it won't budge very easily. I didn't wanna use excessive force if that's not how it works.

I was conteplating using force as well, but it is a tight fit, so u don't really have a choice. Just make sure the way u are rotating is physically possible. No tabs must be blocking and so on. Might be easier using a plier that fits around black insert, so that force gets spread throughout it. Its been close to 3 years ago sine I had the adjusters in my hands, so it feels like I AM THE ONE on morfine here...LOL!

Anyways, I used 1/4inch bolts instead, which turned out to be more versitile for me, but that's another story.

lol oh well, if they refuse to rotate, I might just have to JB Weld those suckers on. On a side note, I have a question for u Herman. Are the Hella 90mm H9 unit retrofitted with D2S just as good as the Hella 90mm D2S unit?

So far a test containing the D2S Hella 90mm and the H9 Hella 90mm with D2S bulb has not been done. My guess is that there would be minor differences in sevaral aspects: hight and color of cutoff band, foreground intensity, down the road light, beam spread. Going into that in more detail would be inaccurate/ spculative and should be left to a real test. I am willing to do a scentific test if anyone is willing to donate parts!
