i am gonna get killed for this but i purchased some crappy cheap gen 3 one piece projectors made by sonar for my 95 civic, cuz they looked dope, anywyas within two weeks the halos went out. First a low beam went out, so i am using high beams regularly til it warms up a lil and i can fix that issue, first my passenger side high beam halo went out completely, then my drivers side high beam dimmed to its demise. Next one of two bulbs in the driver side low beam dimmed and went out, then the passenger side went spastic and began flickering like mad then went out. all i have left is one led in the drivers side low beam. how can i solve this problem?

I am not sure if u are referring to a malfunctiong LED or incandescent bulb. Considering the low quality of previous low beam optics in Chaiwanese headlights presented here earlier, I am not a bit surprised if LEDs are running at too high current at the temperature they were designed for. If the LEDs that were used had any datasheet for the manufacturer to follow.

How do you fix it... well you get some LEDs with a datasheet and run them at lower current which means you kind of have to do the design job the manufacturer was supposed to do in the first place. Very few LED factures have datasheet available, but if you buy recognized brands like HP, Lumiled, Nichia, Toshiba etc, datasheet is normally available.

Example of a LED datasheet from HP is: http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/158.pdf
Especially Fig 4 (maximum forward current vs. Ambient temperature) is important for using LEDs in vehicles.

thanks alot, this does help, except how would i go about lowering the current, would that just change with better LEDs?

On http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/signal-leds.htm there is a few examples on how to build a curcuit with semiconductors to create a constant current regardless of input voltage 10-16 volts. IF you don't feel up to the task there are some premade LED drivers out there. They are normally fixed to a certain current. In example 40mA, 300mA and so on... I had a link for a premade one... can't find it now.
