I guess u made your top shield intentionally straight. The thought of making it with a bow (like RX330 has) seems advantagous to me. It will allow more foreground light on each side compared to straight ahead. Foreground lighting straight ahead is the most killing to eye for distance view
The straight shield wasn't really intentional,I just started it that way so I have enough materal left in case it needed more trimming. The cutoff isn't actually that straight in real life, just some half-ass photo editing
Side illumination didn't seem to be affected, when I tried the same projector with and w/o top shielding the sideways beam spread still looked the same against my garage door.
I know I've seen pictures of projectors other than the Lexus ones here, but people uploaded them as temporary files or their links are no good anymore.
When I mentioned my shields cut out too much foreground lighting, what was happening is the beam didn't "begin" until at least 10 feet away from the projector (mounted in a headlight propped on my truck's bumper),so the areas right in front of me were dark. My factory headlights on the other hand illuminated those dark areas.
I'm going to trim the shield some more tonight, maybe this time with a bow pattern cut into it.
