early tonight when I drive home from school, pass by few bmw and es300 god damn it shadow my light, their like were overpower my light, way better like twice brighter. I was like wtf very impressive though. I have experiment with E65 , Sc430 and Audi RS6 none seem bright like those that I see. And I did aim them right, cutoff is sweet but then output aren't that impressive. Why is that?
You may have the same D2S HID capsules, but do you have the same headlamp fixtures? There's more to putting a large amount of useful light on the road than just having a very bright light source.
If you have clear non pitted lexan or glass headlamp lens, OEM HID projectors and philips 4100K D2S there is no reason why it should not be as bright. Maybe you have cheap asian bulbs?
I doub it man, i got true philips genuise 4100k clear texture lense, but I notice retrofit never compare to OEM. With retrofit I think you only get at 85% out of 100% or less
Herman, the chart you posted depicts HID bulb retros only in halogen fixtures, not a full HID projector based retrofits. The extra glare in the pictures is evident there, but it still does not provide a valid explanation for the original thread question. Those are N/A. I still contend that if the retro is applied correctly like Josch has done on his, the output should be comparable, unless the components are not OEM.
