Some time ago I have come across this page:
http://www.breathlessperformance.com/products/253.asp

It gave me an idea to yank out my long hated headlights and install a set of driving lights hidden under GTS masks. The idea seemed perfect and worked great for a low budget. The lights are strong and produce a very well focused oval pattern on the ground. When aimed well, it definitely gives enough light to see those annoying pot holes an NYC highways.

I was wondering about what people think about this approach in general.

I am also doing a lot of research on Retrofiting my car with a set of HID projectors. I already own a set of D2Rs and was thinking of getting headlights off BMW E36 which are a bit shorter than mine but are of the same height. Putting clear GTS covers and painting over the gaps would pretty much make the headlight look as if it belongs there.

I am welcoming any feedback.

They use aux lighting as low beam. Not good. It seems like desperate attempt to find some good low beams. There are plentyful of high quality real low beam units out there based on halogen and HID bulbs. High beams are fine to use driving lights.

I'd suggest start reading
http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/hid-upgrade-routes.htm
to get some more ideas. Its kinda hard for me to suggest something specific since u did not mention $$$/effort/ability in your post.
