HID light problem

I think I have got a serious problem with my hid kit

currently the left side lamp is gone completely, when I turn my lights on, the left side lamp flicker a bit and then it's gone, it won't light up anymore.

Now the question is:
- Is there any possibilities that the problem can be fixed? because i thought the lights flicker a bit, it doesn't mean that it's completely dead right?

- If so, then what thing should I check to make it work again?

Otherwise, I will just pull all the kit altogether and throw it in the bin
I am sick of it already

cheers

Pinpoint the problem.
If one side still works, swap the HID capsules (bulbs). If the problem then goes to the other side, it's the bulb. If not, it's the ballast or (maybe) the wiring.

Not directly related to the above problem, but don't give up on things too soon; there's almost always a solution (or several).

You might try replacing the relay in the side that is gone. Flicker is a good sign the relay is failing, and this is due mostly to water corrosion inside it. Even good kits like autolamps have proved defective with cheap asian relays which are not waterproof at all. Replace them with good german hella or bosch relays if you find this to be the problem.

Thanx for the info guys

I went to my mechanic today and they told me that the ballast is gone and I need to return it to my supplier for an exchange, fair enough !!!

unfortunately my hid kit does not have a relay, so the hid lamp connect to the ballast, and the ballast connect to the car's battery (u know that + and - terminal wire).

My ballast is hella, I knew it is not the best if compared to phillips or watever, but is there any sugestion to improve the life of the ballast, should I cover them with something for protection later if I install it in the future, any suggestion guys?

the hella balast has this things written on it:

ballast system
xenon-light 12V
5DV 007 760-47
DOT D2S:D2R 2000h
Made in Germany

is it an old type ballast and will there be any problem if i continue using it later in the future?

any inputs are appreciated cheers

All ballasts Hella has made has excellent quiality. Like any other electronic box, they must be used according to recommendations to make them last. See http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/hl-hid-ballasts.htm
and http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/headlamp-harness.html for more details.

There are rumors out there that Hella/Philips ballasts are being illegally copied by backyard Asian manufacturer and sold like genuine product. They will most likely not have the same quality.
