hey i have a 96 lexus sc300 with 9006 lows and seperate high beams stock, my relay only works when the plus and negative of the orignal 9006 connector is used as the positive signal and ground, so i was wondering if i needed a diode on both the pos and neg wire? or just the positive wire?

U can decide plus or minus lead yourself. If u insert it into minus lead, it needs to be turned around electrically.
