Bosch E46 bi-xenon wiring

Hi
I searched the FAQ but couldn't find anything on this. This is a huge ongoing thread over @ hidforum related to this topic but I wanted to post here as well. I am not sure how the 3 wire solenoid for the bi-xenon is wired. Does anyone know if the relay harness on the E46 BMW uses a capacitor or? Is this something that I could walk into a dealership, look at an EVTM diagram and ask for by part number?

here is the thread on hidforum:

If anyone has a wiring diagram or picture of what they did to wire these projectors up, I'd appreciate the info.

thanks!
Ian

For reference, its about the 2002+ E46 Bi_xenon, which is still reletvely new in the retro world. I was reading a simlar thread last winter. It seemed to me that it was mostly guessing to get to the bottom of the 3 terminal mystery. If I had one of those in my hand, I would find out why the 3rd wire was for, even if it involved standing on my head for one week!
Almost anyone can guess that red is pluss and black is ground, (even if it does make coil hot) so I did not even bother putting that on the faq.

I wouldn't mind sending you one but of course I'd probably ask you to make up a working relay for me (or two).
:P

the green wire is used to keep a minimal current applied to the solenoid so that it does not overheat while the shield is activated. If using the red wire and black wire alone, keep the solenoid active when the bi-xenon shield is down generates alot of heat. So the green wire allows a passive steady state for the solenoid. No one has really created a harness that mimics the OEM BMW harness but there are diagrams available on HIDforum.com under the general discussion forum titled green wire Bosch bixenon something or other.
