Source for Bosch E46 bulb holders?

I stopped by the BMW dealer today and they looked like a deer caught in headlights (no pun intended) when I showed them my E46 projector and tried to get the bezel ring that holds the D2S capsule in. Does anyone have a p/n# for these or know a source or willing to sell/give me a pair?

thanks
Ian

Go to Audi dealer. They're cheaper in price if you ask for A6 single xenon 99 year projector holders

E46/Audi/ French ballasts

September 1 2004, 12:41 PM

Off of which Audi though? It's the same projector as in the E46 (bixenon Bosch)? Does this mean that the ballasts and ignitors are then the same for each car? I noticed that the BMW E46 ballasts are made in France. Who makes them?

Thanks
Ian

For comparison, the 2000 Audi A6 Hella single Xenon projector unit socket/lock ring looks like this:

BMW Part number is: 63 12 6 905 323 Just for the records. This one is for a simple one, not the one that will accomodate 4th gen ignitor.

Hey VXCL,

Part number is posted above. From a BMW dealership off a 3-series E46 Xenon Headlights. I just told them that I need a holder that holds Xenon bulb. Together we checked an online schematic and Viola. Cost was C$20 with taxes and all. Here is a picture. It's the one on the left that I ordered. The one on the right will also fit, but ususally is used with a 4th gen igniter or what is called Litronic system.

$20 is pretty expensive for a piece of plastic.

Considering the low sales volume, I am surprised at all...

Interesting. I ended up getting the correct holders awhile back. One was from a Bimmer forum and the other was from a local dealer after I got the part number from an online dealer search (Niello BMW). Part number for the E46 Bosch bixenon is 63-12-6-905-323. They quoted me $14.69. I think the local dealer was a dollar cheaper or so. There is also a number on the part itself which is NOT the part number.

However, the holders (while correct) do not look like the holders that someone posted a pic of.
