I own a 1989 Toyota with headlight that are fitted with a Glass Lens . I want to reto HID(projector) my lights and was wondering how does the Glass Lens affect the light. The reason being is my glass lens has the beam pattern built into the glass itself. The do not make any afrtermarket headlight kit for my vehicle. Is my only option to start sanding away at the glass.........hope not..
Considering the effort and money u put into a ligthing upgrade, the front lens need to be clear. Sanding down glass is tideous - glass is a very hard surface - glass its made from sand, but it is a comfort that u can never cook glass, so you can go at it with power tools... Silicon Carbide paper is probably the best on glass. I don't think anyone been there/done that, please keep us updated with milestones/pics if possible!

yes, it is called vacuum forming and is available many places. Unfortunatly, setup cost is pretty high... Typically in the thaousand $ range. So unless you are makeing a few hundred it is simply not worth it.
