I can't recall what my digi camera use when I snap. The important part is to whatch hot spots in beam, so that image don't get overexposed in these areas.

whoh.. herman.. why does it read SAE? isn't that an E beam pattern?

on a side note, i'm curious how cibie's and hella's h6054 conversion beam patterns look like. been searching online to no avail..

Above pics actually contains 4x6" Marchal (appearantly taken over by Cibie) units with halogen H4 bulb. I am amazed how good beam quality is. Image does not show it that well, but the transistion phase from bottom of beam to cutoff line is extremely smooth and gradually get more powerful. This is something I have never seen in any other headlamp. Not even modern ones.

They do conform to ECE spec. The SAE label only means they are manufactured according to standards set by SAE. SAE is an international organsation, and does not set local limitation rules like ECE and DOT do.

Indeed, the Marchal lamps (for their day) were the best in the world; the Cibie lamps are direct copies. The French are good at: headlights & tires + wine & food.

here's the one from my bosch h6054 E1

just the passenger side

somehow i think my camera setting is not correct... cuz the hotspot looks to be WAY too wide in the pic. lol! plus it looks too white too... its the typical halogen piss yellow colour.

Looks great!!
I'd say: try to decrease exposure time a few notches. hot spots are over exposed.
