| "That one there. That's the best one there is." Nick had said, pointing to a large colour article in the L-Z yellow pages. It was for Dionne and Co. Wedding Planners.
I had spun out. All the childhood days that little girls spent imagining their wedding day escaped me but then everything came racing back to me in one jumbled blur.
I had dialled the number and a wedding planner had made an appointment to come to EG and help.

"Hi, I'm Justine" she said, sitting down on the sofa with a gym bag full of folders and note pads.
She was slender, with black hair tied up into a pony tail and a fair complexion.
"I'm Nick, this is Holly" Nick introduced.
"Congratulations firstly" She said.
"Are you married?" I blurted.
She smiled, "No,". I don't know why I asked that question.
"Ok," she began, adjusting her position on the sofa and leaning over to grab a notepad. "Have you decided when you want to get married?"
"No," Nick said, "but I always wanted to get married in Spring or Summer." I looked at him and smiled.
"Same" I said.
"Spring or Summer" Justine murmured as she scribbled on the red lined lecture pad.
"Well" Justine said, squinting. "I can imagine.." She lifted her hands in a frame. "Aqua greens, whites of course. An outside wedding, in a garden on a bed of crimson and white camelia petals."
"God" I breathed, she had a beautiful imagination.
I could imagine how this would turn out.

It all happened so quickly. It seemed wierd when even the date, month or season hadn't been decided yet but I still relished the idea of being able to turn my girlish wedding fantasies to life.
"I don't know. I don't want to wait so long to get married. Maybe we could get married in November?" I suggested biting on my lower lip.
Nick looked up at me from where he played on the floor with the now larger Lily.
"What about the bed of petals that you wanted so badly?" He reminded me then exclaimed as one of Lily's furry clawed paws mistook his finger for part of the catnip toy.
"Mmm" I murmured in agreement.
"Look" Nick said, "you're talking about the wedding" he emphasised his last word. "Marriage is different."
Nick rose from the floor and sat beside me.
"Marriage is being together forever. A wedding is marrying yourself through someone on a legal document and having a ceremony. This might sound silly Hol, but we can just think of ourselves as being married."
I smiled, "That's such a sweet thing to say".
I plucked Lily from her game with a little black mouse with red ears and a leather tail and sat her on my lap.
"One thing I do know" I said, stroking her furry back and sliding my fingers down her grey tipped tail as it flicked back and forth, her eyes fiercely reguarding the mouse. "I want a white horse drawn carriage".
"Ooh!" I exclaimed, the thought dawning on me just now.
"I have to ring my mum and dad. Nicola, my little sister will be so excited. She's about 17 or 18 now"
I kissed Nick, set Lily back to her game and dashed for the phone.
