I am so sorry that I haven't gotten on lately and as soon as I get a spare moment, you can bet I'll be on here reading and responding and writing!

I need a huge favour from anyone who can help!
I figured this was the best place to come because everyone here is an awesome writer...
I am doing a poetry anthology for english and it's due on Tuesday. We haven't had much time to work on it and I am desperate to get some more poems for it. My theme is inspirational poetry. Poems that almost have a moral to them (for example: be yourself, try your best in everything you do etc.)
If you guys have any poems you have written that are inspirational, that you think fit my theme I would be forever grateful if you'd send them to me...or even post them here. I will give you full credit and I won't change them or modify them in any way (because that's plagerism). If you don't want to, don't feel pressured because I realise it's your work and you control what happens with it. However, if you can send a poem, please do!

Thanks a million!

-Scarlet

PS: Miss you guys!

"Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints in snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
And when you wake in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of many birds in encircled flight.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there.
I did not die."

That's a poem a friend of my auntie's gave to us when my grandma died.

..I wrote this one.

Black & White

The world is black and white,
I see your suffering clearly,
I see the dark and the light.
And now, I ask,
who writes these rules?
Are they the wise ones?
Or the fools?

Sorry, I'm a freak about social injustice.

That's awesome! Did your auntie's friend write this poem because I have heard it before except as a song and I heard that there was a bunch of controversy as to who actually wrote the words. I'll definitely use it! Thanks a million!
