Loranna was in the main hall sitting on the hardwood floor on a blanket with Ethan, Logan and Charlotte. Ethan was sleeping in his carrier, Charlotte was lying on the blanket, drooling all over and playing with various things and Loranna was playing peek-a-boo with Logan. It wa funny how I could tell them apart easily. I had always thought that twins and triplets were so difficult to keep straight but I could pick out which baby was which with ease.
Loranna saw me an smiled. "Could you pass me jar of baby food?" she asked, gesturing to a little container on the table. I nodded and scooped it up.
"Yum," I joked, reading the label, "Carrots and peas, extra mushy."
Loranna smiled. "They seem to love it!"
I picked up Charlotte who was trying to fit a large yellow letter block into her tiny, toothless mouth.
I smiled and kissed her forehead. She gurgled and a tiny smile crept on to her face, and then, suddenly, I was covered in baby drool.
Loranna passed me a cloth and I wiped it off.
"How are they all doing.... how are YOU doing?" I asked her.
Loranna laughed. "They are just fine. We just had a doctor's appointment and we're all looking healthy. And I am fine thanks."
"That's excellent," I replied, "And Charlotte's looking better?"
Loranna nodded, gazing at her only daughter in that very loving, maternal way. "Yes. Look at that colour in her cheeks! She still has a few bruises but the doctor says they'll heal with time."
I grinned.
"Logan and Ethan are both healthy as well," she said, "It's too early to determine anything else... Toby and I are still waiting to see if either one of the boys are colour blind."
I frowned, "Why?"
"Toby's colour blind, and the gene usually only carries in males," she replied.
"Toby's colour blind?" I asked, a little surprised.
"Yes, he has difficulties with the colours red and green and most shades of yellow. Did he never tell you?" she asked.
"No... I always wondered though, sometimes his choices of clothes were questionable," I admitted.
Loranna laughed, "That's why he has me, to choose clothes for him."
I smiled. "Good thing."

I knocked on Scarlet's front door, clutching at two Saturday Papers. Scarlet opened the door, and I shuffled in.
"Hey, I just came to say good morning, apart from the fact that I was out the front and thought I'd save you the trouble of going out there, and bring you the paper," I handed Scarlet the paper and she set it aside.
"Ooh" I said, smiling, "the babies! How's Charlotte doing?" I asked, looking over at the three little angels on the blanket.

Loranna smiled as Holly came to sit down beside her. I took the paper and sat on the sofa, leafing through it for an intriguing article.
"The 'angels' are fine, Holly, thanks," Loranna said.
"Charlotte is excellent. The doctor says she's healing well, the bruises will go with time."
Holly nodded. "Good."
Charlotte began whining and Loranna was a bit distraught as her arms were already full with Logan and Ethan - who had now waken up. Holly leaned over and picked Charlotte up. Charlotte, instinctively, found a comfy spot on Holly's shoulder and proceeded to suck her thumb and drool mindlessly on Holly's shirt.
Loranna laughed. "Wow! That was fast! Maybe I'll hire you!"
Holly grinned, collecting drool from her shoulder with her fingers and wiping it on the towel. "Maybe...."
We all laughed aloud.

"Actually, I really better start getting used to drool. I'll have my own little drool machine in about six or seven months." I softly patted Charlotte's back and she made a gurgling sound, expelling little bubbles of drool. "I guess I don't mind it that much. But I know I'm not a vomit person." I said smiling.
