Jakob, Damhnatt and I made our ways back to our apartment. I walked behind them, my back slouched, shivering nervously, drying tears stiffening my face. We got back to the apartment and Damhnatt immediately went to the guest room and shut the door. Jakob sat me down on the sofa.
"We're having dinner in the main hall with everyone to talk things over. Do you want to go?" he asked quietly. I shook my head. I was practically convulsing.
"God, you're shivering," he said, pulling me close to him. His warmth comforted me a little, but I couldn't take my mind off the day's events.
"Come, let's go. You'll feel better after.
He helped me up and called to Damhnatt. She came out of her room.
"What were you up to?" he asked her.
"I was writing in my journal. Da says to keep track of things tha' go on so's I can remember when I'm older," she replied earnestly.
He smiled and ruffled her hair.

When we walked into the main hall, Holly and Ash were already eating. Loranna and Toby were sitting on the couch, feeding the triplets.
"Hey," Jakob said cheerfully. "Couldn't wait for us, could you?"
Holly smiled. "Nope... tell me Jakob, you ever been pregnant?"
Jakob laughed. "Okay, I've heard this speech before, from every pregnant women I've ever known... my sisters, my mother, my cousins... I know, I know. I won't complain again."
We sat down. Damhnatt filled her plate. I scooped a little onto my plate and picked mindlessly at it.
"So, Ash," Holly said, "Are you going to be okay with this? The police weren't too harsh were they?"
Ash shrugged. She looked extremely pale. I forgot my worries and studied her face. She was hiding something. I could tell be the way it wasn't quite Ash sitting there, she was wearing a mask... a solemn, pale mask.
"Ash?" I said.
Ash shrugged again. "I guess I'll be okay. I don't feel like talking," she said.
Holly and I exchanged looks. We both stood up and beckoned Ash to follow us. We went into the kitchen and sat at the counter.
"What's up, Ash?" Holly said, concerned.
I nodded. "You're not okay... what's worng?"
Ash swallowed.
I sighed. "Ash, please," I said. "I don't want to pry, but I can't bear seeing you looking so worried..."
Ash replied, "..."

"Look. I cant say anything, so just drop it." I half yelled. Scarlet grabbed my arm before I could run away. THey both looked at be with pleading, worried eyes. I sighed. I didnt know what to od, what was right. "Floyd was here." I said at last. "In the apartment. He came and told me that he was sorry and never meant for any of this to happen he became possessed abnd took the gun and here we are. He escaped through the window when we heard Holly knocking at the door. A part of me wants to cover up for him and not tell you, although I just did, but the other wants to kill him." I blurted out quicker then either one of them could breathe. They looked at me with complete shock and had no clue what to say. "Well...umm..er, Ash you can always talk to us...wow." Holly said. They didnt kmow what to say. Finally one of them peeped up...

"Oh Ash, this isn't good. You've got a confession from Floyd, he's on the run, it's all very bad." I said, chewing on my lip.
"Ash, we all know that Floyd is a really great guy, and whatever made him pick up a gun and use it..." Scarlet drifted off.
"You've got to decide- do you tell the police what he said, or does Floyd become this fugitive on the run from the law?"

[Teehee. Sounds like a movie!]

I hemmed and hawed for a minute. "god you guys, I just dont know. I mean, Im so torn. I hate to put everyone else trhough this and god, I love him, were engaged. But i am feeling so selfish right now." I sighed "can you guysgive me one more night? He's supposed to come back tonight and i will talk to him and i odnt know, but just give me tonight please. I know we arent in any danger untill then." I begged. Scarlet and Holly looked at each other and whispered something. Ifelt bad putting them in this spot, finally they said "..."

"Ash," I said slowly. "I understand where you're coming from. Floyd can be trusted under normal circumstanced, but not i'd be afraid to leave him alone with you.Can we work something out where Holly and I are close by... or something? That way, if he does anything, we can help."
Holly looked at me. "Yeah, good idea. Ash, we can't let you get hurt. We just can't."
Ash sighed. She replied, "..."
