"I dont know what to say you guys." I told Holly and Scarlet. "I mean, what is there to say? I could lie and say Im fine. Life suckz, but verything is ok. Or i could sit here adn pur my feelings out for nothing. Either way, Floyd isnt coming back, we arent getting married. Chrissy has a disfunctional fmaily, just like the one I took her away from, and Dust is still, and alwyas will be dead. Life is grand." I said without emotion. The two girls had no clue what to say. i guess my response wasnt quite what they had in mind. It was silent for a little while. Then a girl walked over to us and started to turn around when she realized she had stumbled into a deep conversation. "No wait." i said. "Im Ashley." I extended my hand and the gilr shook it. "Sammy. I was jusr wondering if you had a spare brush I could boroow." She asled timidly. "Absolutely." I smiled going to get her one. She said thank-you, and i told her to come around so we can get to know each other laster tonight. She looked glad to be fitiing in and went to groom her horse. I turned back to Scarlet and Holly. "Well she seemed nice. "I said They both nodded. "Hiya mom." We truned to see Chrissy walking towrds us. She had bno clue what happned with Floyd. "Hey babe." i said "How ya feeling." i axked her. "Good, alittle sore, but thats to be expected." Chrissy said maturely. Sometimes, she seemed more like the adult then me. "Chris, we need to talk to about Floyd." i said. She al;ready looked at me knowing. "Ash, its been on all night on every news channel." She replied. I just nodded. "Is it alright if I just go to bed." She asked alittle uncomfortable. I nodded and she said night to the three of us. I probably should ahve followed her up to the house but Holly(or Scarlet) started to say something.

"Ash," I said quietly. "Maybe she should just go. Tonight probably is too soon to talk about it. Chrissy should let it sink in."
Ash turned. Holly nodded.
"Right now, we're worried about you," she said.
Ash smiled wryly. She sat back down.
"Ash," I began, "I'm not going to tell you that I know how you feel, because I don't. I can't even begin to imagine how you feel. I can only tell you that even thinking about losing Jakob like you lost Floyd, and losing Mill like you lost Dust makes me want to break down and cry. And you have a child on top of it all. I wish I could make it all go away, but I can't and that's what makes me hate it. I hate seeing you so depressed. And don't feel like you're pouring out your feelings for nothing. Tell me. Tell Holly. I'd rather take on some of your burdens than have you carry the whole load. That's what friends are for."

Elmer watched me grooming Jojo and he began to whine and followed. "Elemer hush," I scolded he sighed and flopped down he st belly following him. I shook my head and fed Jojo a treat. He ate it an flipped up his lips and then he whinnied and got all excited. I stepped back and laughed, I couldn't stop. His eyes were watching me he knew he was helping me relax I gave him a hug and kissed him. "You're so silly, i laughed and began to pick his hooves. Elmer barked suddenly I looked up and turned around. A girl stood wathcing me "I was just wondering if you were finished with my brush?" she asked. "Oh yeah," I sighed and picked it up out of my tack box. Jojp stared at the girl and then kicked his stall. The gril stared back at him. and sh just smiled back at me. "Is this your horse?" she asked. I nodded. "Jojo, he's kinda dumb," I said. She laughed. "How so?" she asked maturely. I swallowed. "He just has a cheeky personalitly. I'm sorry what's your name again?" I asked. "Ashley," she smiled politely. "Well Sammy, Jojo, and this is Elmer," I pointed at the dog that was now snoozing. "He's sorta human itn a weird way," I said looking at him fondly. Ashley smiled slightly. "Sammy, I think it makes people sound like pranksters" she said. "Well, I sorta am," I smiled slyly. Jojo whinnied and bobbed his head. "I think it means he agrees," Ashley didn't smile she just nodded. Jojo kicked hte stall again. "He''s just annoyed don't worry he hates not being the center of attention," I said rolling my eyes. "Wow you know your horse pretty well," she said with an appealing smile. "Well, it's just he came out of a good bloodline and you know racing and throughbreds attention and all that put together go hand in hand," I said. She nodded and walkd away listlessly. I watched and just shrugged. Elmer growled in his sleep. "Jojo you need manners here...I think," I raised an eyebrow and returned to grooming him.
