I walked aimlessly around the stable, l had just lost my best friend. I didn't want to do anything but my mom had forced me out here today. I finally couldn't take it and just sat on the floor and cried. I felt a hand on my shoulder. i looked up and Shane was smiling down at me. "Hey kiddo,' he murmered. i couldn't even talk. i just hugged him. "I wish he could come back," i said between sobs. "Shh," Shane soothed. "I pushe dmy self away and rolled over on my back. Shane smirked. "sammy come on this isn't healthy stand up," he murmered. He helped me stand and walk to scarlet's office. I gaveme a can of soda and then he began maing phone calls. "Hey guess what Sam?" he asked. I looked at him. "What?" I asked hoarsely. "i found some places that have some puppies for sale," he smiled. i finished my pop and walked out of the office. shane followed. "I don't want another puppy. I want to go home," I said. "No! Sammy elmer is gone and I think he'd want you to move on," he said annoyed. "you're wrong! No-no he wouldn't he'd want me to wait, he'd want me to wait until i want another puppy!" I yelled. I loosened myself from Shane's grasp and walked towards Jojo's stall. I put his bridle on and a bareback padd and led him outside i cantered way onto the trails.
i trotted around and just poured my heart out to Jojo, jojo listened intently nickering when he was spposed to. "I wish i could talk to Sony fitzpatrick...that pet psychic and bing me to closure," I said leaning on jojo's neck. as he grazed.
As I walked up to the house slowly I heard a small fint puppy whimper about three or four miles away. I stood quietly and listend for it again and againit came. 'I wonder..." I said I grabbed my bike out of the garage and rode towards the wimpers. the tempreature was dropping steadily and my un gloved hands were like ice but something in my gut told me I needed to find this puppy. I rod e out ito a field and again the puppy barked. I walked around and thenstumbled over it. It was a small puppy, it was black and tan with an awkward pink nose and blue eyes. The poor thing couldn't have been very old. "ohh poor thing," i murmered. I picked the fluffy thing up and put it in my hoddie pocket where i knew it'd be warmer. I rode home and took the puppy in.
"Is mom home?' I asked jason. "No she called and said she'd be late,' "You've gotta take me to see her," Isaid I showed him the puppy, "Sam where'd the heck did you get that?" he asked looking at the puppy who i had to admit was a pretty ugly little thing. "Com eon Jason please!" I begged he nodded and we drove out to the hospital. I ran through the doors and thrusted the puppy on an examining table. "Sammy where did you find it?" mom asked astonished. "in the fieled down the road. "she's not more than a month old poor thing," m mom looked at the ugly puppy. "She's a deffinate mutt," mom said. "can I keep her?" I asked lifting the puppy up and cuddling her. "she'll be a lot of work," "I know," I murmered. I drove home with Jason and the uppy and took her upstairs karen had a couple friend over but they were prank calling and didn't notice my puppy who I've decided to name Cinderella. I put sme of Elmers old blankets in an old Easter baske t of mine since his bed had to be thrown away. I wiped my eyes and smiled at the picture of me and elmer. and then I noticed how much Cinderella and elmer were alike. "I think he knew I needed a friend," I murmed stroking Cinderella as she slept. karen came over. "Where'd you find that ulgy thing?" she smirked. "Shes beautful," I spat. Karen laughed. "like mother like daughter," she smiled and left.
