I sat outside on the front porch staring out at the field. Nobody was home except for me and the dogs. Who'd i found out did have a name and it was Oliver, he was old and didn't have much left him but still lived on much to everyones surprise. The Jenson's didn't have a telephone so there was no way i could call anyone and tell them i was safe, it was probably better that way. i didn't write letters fearing that Nicander might have anything intercepted. Bobby worked on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Mrs. Jenson volunteered down the road to help a woman with ten children during the day. I closed my eyes letting the breeze blow across my face. I opened my eyes againa nd bowed my head down and just enjoyed the silence of this place.
After lunch I went down the road and visited the weeing willow, i walked through it's swaying braches and sat beneath them. "it's so pretty,' I murmered picking a dandelion and fingering it's petals. I sat there for a long time, the quietness of this place was wonderful. I didn't have to watch what I said or did because Nicander wasn't here to stop me from anything to hurt me to take away anything I'd found a little happiness in. Underneatht he willow tree i wondered if Scarlet and the otehr would ever find me, and if Cooper still loved me even though Nincander had thrown him away. I wondered if my mother and father were even trying to look for me or if they'd just given up all hope. I eventually stood up and began to walk home along the way a truck honked I turned Bobby was driving up. "I told you not to leave the hose," he said. "I needed to get some air," I said flatly. He nodded. "Hop in my sweet," i laughed and willing jumped intot he passenger side.
When we got home Bobby prepared a decent meal and we ate alone. "mom's not home" he observed. i nodded and snuck a peice of fat off my chicken to oliver who took it graciously. "I saw that," he smiled. 'oh I can't help it," I said. bobby laughed taking my hand. "Do you like it here?' he aske.d "I love it." i smiled. 'i'l mglad," he siad. I nodded, "so am i" he laughed. "I was thinking about gettin gyou a puppy," he said. "i don't want a dog," I said. "okay, a cat?" "No," "I just want to liver here as long as I can, Oliver is a fine dog,' I patted the black dogs head as he put an old gray paw in my lap. He was so gentle . "He;s near dead," "Bobby he's got plenty of youth left," I said firmly. He chuckled. "Polly you're too much,' he cooted out his chair and collected the dishes and we washed them together.
when the dihes were washed We walked outside and went to the field and watched the stars. i rolled cloe to bobby, he wrapped his strong arms around me. "bobby," "hmm " "Don't ever let me go OK?" i asked. "I won't, I promise he said I looked at him and smiled he drew me closer and kissed my lips for a few minutes and then stopped.
I sat in my bedroom later looking up at the cieling. Wondering how life would be when i left tis place would I love cooper the same way i used to, or would I always love bobby more. Or could i not love anbody after bobby. I sighed Not knowing the future was killing me.
