I put Ella in her carseat and left Bobby a note promising to be home soon. I pulled out of the drive way and drove to the police station. Something inside of me told me that Nicander had a right to see Ella, it was probably a dumb idea, but I felt like it had to happen. I carried Ella into the police station and was led to a two way conversation area. nicander was led in by a stern and big police officer. Ella sat in her car seat and grinned the entire time.
"EMily" nicander said. "nicander" i began. "I had the baby, and I felt like you should have the right of seeing her at least once in her lifetime." He smirked. "You're awfully generous....YOu know all I ever wanted was you, and a family with you. And now I have one" I felt the room begin spinning. "Uh whatever" i shook my head and took Ella out of her seat. She crooned at me. I held her little body close to mine. And then set her on the table. Nicander turned pale. "I made that," he whispered. I nodded. "What's her name?" I bit my lip. "Stella" i said. He frowned. "Not Anaxdria?" "please, I don't want her to be teased for her entire life" I hissed. He started to say something and stopped. "She's beautiful Emily" He said softly. I felt tears begin to swell into my eyes. "YOu're a horrible man, and when the trial begins I hope you stay in jail for the rest of your life. My best friend is dead because of you"I spat. He swallowed hard. "How come you didn't put her up for adoption?" He asked. "Because..." i trailed off. "I don't know, maybe because the instant I heard her shirll cry I was sold. She is the joy in my life, even if you are her real father, Bobby is a wonderful man and an even better husband and father" i said wiping my eyes. I set ella back in her seat and left.
Then I drove to Evergreen, I carried Ella around and stared at each horse. I stopped at JOjo's stall and smiled at him. His muscles still well toned, his eyes showed some sort of sparkle as if he knew a secret about something that nobody would ever know. "Em?" I turned. Cooper smiled. "Hey" I said smiling. He leaned over and smiled at Ella. "She's got your nose" he kissed my cheek. "Thanks" I whispered. "Emily are you staying?" he asked taking my hand. I took it back. "No, just visiting" I whispered. "well nobody is here right now, they're all gone" he smiled. "Want to see the new baby?" i nodded curiously.
I drew in a breath. "She looks..." "LIke a horse version of sam?" i nodded. "Jason thought so" cooper said. "wow" I breathed. Ella laughed at the filly. "Well we better be going" I hugged him. he kissed my head. "Emily don't be a stranger" he said. I didn't answer. I walked away.
Bobby was reading a magazine when i got home. "HEy look it's my two favorite ladies" he put his large hands on my waist. I shutttered at them for the first time ina while. " hey? What's up?" he asked. "It's been a long day," I said kissing his cheek. His smile faaded. "Where have you been?" I didn't answer. "Emily, you have to tell me" he said holding the baby. "I just went for a drive" i muttered. Bobby nodded.
After Ella was sleeping I sat in bed and stared at the cieling. Bobby took my hands. I turned and stared into his blue ocean eyes. He smiled and kissed me. I seemingly relaxed into his arms. then soon fell asleep.
"You went to the police station!" Bobby yelled. I sat up alarmed. It was 2 in the morning. "YOu know what happened around an hour ago?" Bobby looked furious. "No," i said rubbing my eyes. Cobwebs of sleepieness still hung over my head. "Nicander escaped prison" he hissed. "YOu're kidding" "NO, and he took our child!" my heart skipped a beat..."Noo" i began screaming
"emily, shhh, emily, wake up your having a bad dream" bobby's kind eyes looked down at me. I sat up, and hugged him tightly. Tears rolled down my cheeks. "OH my gosh Bobby, I went to the Police station today, I took Ella with me, Nicander loved her." I sobbed. "I Know, Mom told me" he whispered. "it's okay" he soothed me. his black hair fell into his eyes. "go back to sleep darling" he laid me down and kissed my lips slightly. "It'll be fine" he soothed. i sniffed a couple times. "You're sure?" "positve" he nodded.
