Be glad you're not "gifted" Scarlet, I'd like to say i'm mediocre too, and actually the Boarding school was something like a Riding Academy whose main focus was education of horses and then plain jane education. I didn't like it at all, yes i made friends, but i don't know Maybe i'm just not city material.
The ebony black stallion was ugly, he was so skinny that figuartively speaking you could see through him, his eyes glittered with hatred, and his coat was dull and had shadows of skin that peered from beneath from previous beatings. "I'm not going to hurt you" I murmered. He looked at me, "You can talk to me, I won't hurt you, I promise" I said. His long matted forelock covered most of his face except his eye, yet i knew there would be a familar marking underneath. "YOu're dead to me" the horse said cruelly. His voice was cool, and evil, the a trace of fear aswell. "I'm so sorry about what happened" I said. "You don't know half" he spat back. I was aghast, this horse had never known love. "I used to own your brother Midnight Rainfall" I said hoping to jerk some type of feeling."Yes, but my world famous brother is dead now, because of you" "Then you know who i am?" "Of course, You don't think my owners pushed me to be like Rainfall, you don't think they tried to be like you?" "I didn't know"I said defensively. "Please, just trust me" I said. The horse stared at me for a moment, and the lowered his head and suddenly tossed it up, he bellowed with rage and suddenly charged. I lept from my positon by the door and scurried out. Mom smiled grimly. "He may have to be shot mindy, he won't let a single person near him with out sedation, a strong dose of it might i add" she said. "don't shoot him mom" I said. "I want him," I said. "MIndy, he's wild" "Mom, he just needs to know love," I said. "YOU have six days Melinda Lee" She patted my cheek and walked away. I turned and heard Rainfall's brother kicking at the door. I frowned and kicked it back. The kicking stopped. I opened the top door. There was Rainfall, only it wasn't. He was laying in the bedding licked at his salt block, his upside down raindrop was actually a star and amazingly this horse had a blue eye. "Human leave me alone" There was a trace of sobbing in the horses voice. "May i ask what your name is?" I asked. "NO" he said simply. I nodded. I sat in the bedding. "What?" he snorted. "I have six days to get you to trust me, six days to save your life" I said. "Six days to save my life?" He tossed his head. "They might shoot you, because they think you're crazy. Look I know you can't take down all your walls of mistrust at once. Believe me when i say that i won't hurt you, because i mean it" I said. The horse stared at me. "Okay, " he said quietly. "Will you come..." "What?" I asked. "will youcome pet me and take these knots out?" he asked. I nodded feeling a cool wave of happiness spill ontop of me.
"Mom, what's that horses name?"I asked. "Oh good heaven sweet potato i don't know, his papers are on the desk though" he southern accent was very heavy as she cooked the chicken and dealt with Skye and Angel. i walked over to the desk and picked up the thin why sheets of paper. "Dirty Achievements" I said. I small smiled crept across my face. "Talk about a great racehorse name"I laughed to mom, as she looked at the papers she smiled too. "what are you going to call him" Skye asked. "Probably something just as tough." I laughed.
