I went to this barn for lessons and started on an Arabian Pony named Benji. I loved him the second I seen him. I got on him and it was like magic. We hit right away. He did everything I asked. And when you look at him it's like he's talking to you you can see what he is saying in his eyes, and everytime it was that was fun and dont be scared I will take care of you no matter what.I knew for sure I was going to have the best summer ever!
Summer came and we started to canter over jumps. It was scary but fun and right before I got on I had to fix his bridle. He looked at me and said that we were going to be fine. I didnt think so and was still a little scared. We did it and it was the best thing. So we went to the shows in the summer and we were Grand Champions by the end! So we went through the winter doing what we did in the summer but show. I thought we were going to get three more years of showing with him because I was growing so fast. We did we got another year in and I wanted one more. Before I was too big.
We did and got Reserved Champion and from that night on I knew something was wrong with the horse that had change my life.
We kept going anyways.But one day I got to the stable and the Vet's truck was there. And that's when it hit me. The horse that came in my life just a few years ago was probably gone. But I got in there and he was lying down in the arena. I ran over and when he seen me he let out a little whinne. The vet said he had colic and had I got there any later he might not have made it. But he fought to stay with me.
We retired Ben at the age of 20.Now he is out in the back pasture eating all day long and I will always have my Bennie Boy!! Even if I dont get to ride him.
He will always be my Favourite horse in the barn.
