i received an e-mail from steve in melbourne a few days ago saying among other things that he had purchased the 19 film dvd set that has been on sale recently.i found a problem on one of the films which may be of interest.
my copy comes in a smart boxed set with a picture of will on the front and a short biography on the back.the dvd's have a printed picture on each with three stills from his films.
i have watched about half of them now and apart from poor quality of picture on 'radio days of 1935'(which i put down to the original quality of the film copied onto dvd)is excellent.
however! on 'the goose steps out' there has been a bit of cutting somewhere down the line.
in the very funny scene of will hay teaching a class of nazi students(;charles hawtrey, peter ustinov, barry morse etc)the scenes about slough being pronounced as'sluff' and the pronounciation of worcester.gloucester and bicester are missing.although it may be of minor irritation to some i'm afraid it is a huge annoyance to me because it was one of my favourite scenes in any will hay film.
the only saving grace is that i have a another copy on video which has the deleted scenes in it.
there! got that off my chest.regards to all

The DVD you have of 'The Goose Steps Out'is obviously
a copy of the 'Official' VHS release of the film from
DD video.
It seems that was only print DD video had of the film.
Like you I have the'uncut'version, with the missing
scenes from the Classroom and also the scenes on the train
with Will and the Nazis planning the Invasion of Britain
with a 'Pincer-Panza Movement',they are some of the funniest parts of the film.
The recording I have came from the TV many years ago.
Maybe if the film gets an Official release on DVD you may get the complete version, although they say they didn't make the cuts to the film themselves!
So,it looks like the only way to see the film in it's entirety is to get hold of a copy recorded from the TV.
