Hi, am a big fan of Will Hay and grew up watching classics like ask a policeman on dark and gloomy nights. i recently read on wikipedia that his telescopes were donated to University College London and are still used for teaching.
Does anybody know anything further about this? I studied at UCL and at the university's observatory in mill hill they have an old Joynson and fry refractor which are used to teach and are the one's i learnt on.
Didn;t think they were donated by will hay tho. But were they originally his telescopes i wonder?
