Hello all!
So here I am, two months post Accutane, and my scars are still very evident, but the redness has left and my skin is smoothing out and....guess what? I've gotten like 3 zits since I stopped my treatment! And NONE have been cysts like I used to have, they're much smaller and hardly noticable with makeup. I pray every day that it stays this way and that my cystic acne never comes back again.
To those of you out there currently on Accutane, about to start Accutane, or contemplating beginning an Accutane treatment, I just wanted to post some before and after pictures to motivate you in your journey.
This was my second course of Accutane. I went on my first course in late 2003 and it cleared my skin, but my acne came back with a vengeance early this year. I went on a second course for four months, and the reality is that it was terrible on me. I had a terrible experience...my cysts and redness got so terrible that I stopped taking pictures one month into treatment because my breakouts were so terrible it made me feel, well, depressed.
Anyway, long story short since I don't want to write a novel here because I definitely could, I just wanted to let you all know that Accutane can be a miracle for you, just as it has been for me. Regardless that this was my second course, I have a lot of faith in this drug. It should definitely only be used as a last resort, and this was definitely my last resort.

Just a note...all the before pictures are pictures of one month starting Accutane. I never took any after that because my acne got even worse than that and it was just too difficult for me to take the pictures.
Here's me and my wonderful boyfriend now!! He's my best friend and was incredibly motivating, supportive, and always made me feel beautiful and looked at me like he never saw my acne. I loooove him with all my heart! Thank you Josh.
