Hi Kelsey, If I were you, I'd at least give it a shot. If you don't like it, you can quit taking it. I also just had regular acne, but it left scarring like yours. My mistake was using Retin-A. I used it for about 9 months, and I started getting the cystic acne, hence the Accutane. My derm also just looked at me and then asked me if I wanted to try Accutane. The derm will only profit from your doctor visit, the pharmaceutical company will profit from the prescription. Again, if you're not happy for any reason, just quit taking it. You will only get a 30 day supply anyway, so that will be the only money you're out. If you have a decent insurance plan, you probably won't have to pay much for it anyway. Good luck to you.
