I've been to acouple message boards other than this one and it seems that every dermatologist does different time periods, though 5 months seems to be the most common. I've seen people on for as little as 3 months and some on as long as 7 months(which I believe is the max allowed). As far as it continuing to work once you've stopped I couldn't tell you, I've only been off for a week. But, again, from what I've read and what my doctor says your skin should continue to improve once you've stopped. The anxiety was just becoming too much for me, I had to take a xanax today to calm down. Luckily my skin has been clear for like 2 months now so I felt comfortable in my decision to stop. Good luck to you, I know how unbearable it can be.
