Debs Cook’s article in Grow Your Own magazine is about comfrey. The head line is “Happy Returns” “Condemned to the gardening wilderness for years, comfrey is making a comeback thanks to the resurgence of a non-invasive variety”.

This variety is Bocking 14, which won’t self seed. I planted some of the officianalis about 4 years ago in my front garden and thought I’d pulled most of it out last winter. It is quite rampant and impossible to pull out now as it is covered in bees. I did make a liquid feed of it last summer and the stench nearly made me feel sick.

So I will make an attempt to dig it all out, though this Debs says, is difficult and then try the Bocking 14.

Debs tells you how to make a liquid feed and a folar feed, otherwise I’ll just put some leaves on the compost heap.
