Hello everyone.

I've been playing with the system and discovered that if you have a photobucket account Photobucket Account you can add photos to the forum like the one below

But only if you create an network54 account to access the forum.

It's also now possible to use basic smilies but once again only when you sign into the forum with a network54 account.

Finally there is now a voting form that we can use for a variety of things and a chat room, both of this facilities can only be accessed once again by Network54 account holders.

With an account you can also add a little icon to your posts and a signature. You are of course at liberty to post still without an account but you will not be able to see or use the additional features. Use of the chatroom and other things is open to Herb society members and non-members, you just have to create an account.

If forum users hate the ideas then I'll gladly remove them, but I thought it may be worth a try?

Re: New Look Forum & New Features

As part of the changes and additions to the site, I just thought I'd mention that the way the Herb Society forum is managed has been changed. Now instead of just having a Forum Host/Manager which is currently Alan Lakin (Council Member), we now have a team of moderators who will help with the upkeep of the forum and will from time to time post items in their particular fields of interest.

I'm one of the moderators and my fellow mods are Sarah Head and Jenny Jones. With Jenny being a FNIMH it will mean that we have someone who is able to discuss herbal medicine threads, within the Herb Society guidelines of course. Although it should be made clear that Jenny won't be doing consultations or giving medical advice, that's what her Practice is for lol! Be gentle with them good people, they're both new to the world of forum moderating. If you have any technical queries as to how the forum works or how to do something on the forum, you'd be best contacting me for now.

We'll have some more exciting things to announce in the new year so watch this space

Debs
