September 26-27 Herb Society AGM and Conference 2009 in Stratford-upon-Avon

Our speakers on Saturday 26th will be James Wong, ethnobotanist and presenter of the BBC's Grow Your Own Drugs, and Anna Parkinson, BBC journalist and author of Nature's Alchemist: John Parkinson, Herbalist to Charles I, a book about her ancestor who was born two years earlier than Stratford's most famous son, William Shakespeare.   James and Anna will focus on herbs Shakespeare would have known, from their different perspectives.   On Sunday 27th there will be a special visit to Hall's Croft, home of Shakespeare's daughter Susanna and son-in-law John Hall, which will be led by Sue Minter.

Reduced rate accommodation is available via our sponsor, NFU Mutual.   To apply for a place at the AGM/Conference please complete the application form on page 7 or download from www.herbsociety.org.uk/downloads/2009-agm.pdf

You will then receive an information pack.   NB:  booking closes 12 September!   Contact Gwenneth Raybould at 020 8761 6565 or [email protected]  with any queries.

I would love to be able to come - and in fact come to more of the events, but my weekends are tied at the moment and are likely to be for some time to come. Hopefully at some point in the future.

I hope you all have a lovely time.
Anne

The simple reply is--brilliant!

However, forgive me if I don't expand on that comment as I am hoping that some of our members who were there will seize this opportunity to post their thoughts.

So, come on folks, what did you think?

He was most excellent [does best Bill & Ted impression] and he took a piece of my cake home with him! Full report and photos coming soon, I really enjoyed his talk and look forward to our paths crossing again in the future. I think James was the highlight of the weekend for most people, everyone I asked 'What was the best part of this weekend for you?' said James lol!

I echo what Linda said, come on all you she peeps we met at Conference that said you look but never post ::waves manically at Sarah Beard!!!:: Let us know what you thought of the weekend, this is your forum as well, it'd be nice to hear from you now we all know what we look like.
