Chimonanthus Praecox (Wintersweet)

I read somewhere a long time ago that Wintersweet has valuable medicinal properties. It has taken me a long time to grow it into quite a large plant, and it is half hardy, but I believe it can be useful for a number of health problems. I cannot find any references to it in my herbals. Please can you advise me.
