Fighting in the Last 10 mins.December 10 2002 at 6:44 PM No score for this post | Anonymous (no login) |
| It didn't speed up the end of game at all. That rule has now opened the door for all of those little weasles (players that are normally to afraid to fight)to slash, high-stick, butt end, hit from behind, etc because they now know the enforcers have their hands tied. All that rule did was curb the fighting but it opened up a whole new problem. Instead of fighting penalties, every other penalty imaginable was called. |

I think you are totally right in what you said with the last 10 minute things... this also means that all of the players who do usually fight, can pick on the good players or try to get them to drop em'.. so they are suspended the next game. There are a lot of cheap little pricks... and that just gives them the go-ahead to do whatever they want in the last 10 minutes, cause no one wants to get suspended now, do they. I think its a load.... that shouldn't be a rule and i don't know how it ever got considered one. |

need to e-mail (no login) | I don't like this rule, someone is going to get hurt soonScore 5.0 (1 person) | December 12 2002, 1:18 PM |
the stick work is up now in the last ten and it won't be long befor some player gets mad enough to give the big two hander. I think if we the fans and the players e-mail the league tell them we hate this rule, and that we the paying fans don't like what we now are seening that the ones in power will change this dump rule. There are better ways to cut the fighting down.
went to the VIJHL site to find the league e-mail didn't see one, is there an e-mail address to the top brass of this league, I and hopefully all that hate this rule will let them know if someone could post the e-mail where we can send them, we thankyou. |

If you go to the "Management" page on the VIJHL site you will find the e-mail addresses for all the league and team reps. The league president is Jim Williams. E-mail him or the govenor of your team! Great idea!! |

now instead of leaving at the five minute mark of the third, I'll be leaving at the 13:00 minute mark. Stupid rule. |

ya the thing is, they still have both rules in. if you get in 3 fights your suspened, if you fight in the last 10 your suspened. they should just pick on of them. |

That just happened to Granny. Semenuk already had his gloves off to fight Cowden, when Oviette decided to take matters into his own hands. Granny had no choice but to fight Semenuk when he came at him swinging. Granny's sixth fight, guess who is sitting a suspension tonight. Judging that Granny didn't fight back right away I think maybe the thought of the suspension was looming in his head. |

intelligent message... can't make sense of it..."didn't want to fight cause they got their asses kicked".. what are they psychic? Funny, I didn't see anyone dancing with Lambert or Walters that night. We really got a kick out of the guy who beaked off after the BIG loss. Who was he? you know the real quite guy that didn't get a regular shift. Cole Fetzner? |

What are you talking about buddy.. Im not dissing storm. Im saying that Williamson and Oviatt didnt really exacly pick the toughest guys on the team to fight. Granbois and Cowden... when do they ever fight, and win? No offense to them what so ever, they've got other duties to tend to besides that. Williamson is a tough kid. And he murdered Cowden, that's all im saying. Same with Travis. | |
