I tweaked the rating system a bit. I included situations where if a team got points against a team that is ranked 5 or more places higher, they would get a bonus. And, inversely if a team loses to a team 5 places lower than them they get a penalty. This evens things out a bit, and I probably should have done it sooner. The only top ten team it affects is Abbotsford (2), who lost to Ridge Meadow(10) on the 7th.

don't know how you get Pen Panthers rated higher than the Victoria Cougars, the Cougars are ahead of the PP in the south division of the VIJHL, with 55 points and two games in hand, they have the 1st, 2nd and 3rd league pt leaders with 79, 70, and 67 pts and have 7 players in the top 30 point getters in the league, PP has only 2 players in that group, I'd say the standing needs a bit more tweaking for sure, PP are not a club that is ahead of the Cougars in any category.

Forget the fact that Victoria has more highly rated players look at the standings, the better goals for and against and the fact that when Vic played PP the results are tied 3 wins 3 losses but the goals for are 28 Victoria 23 PP, I think you need to change your ratings.

Basto. Please read the formula rankings that I bumped to the front page. Please remember that these are weekly rankings, that take into account results from the last two weeks, and the overall statistics. There is no way to quantify versus records provincially, as most teams do not play each other. Also, no league in BC keeps versus records. That would prohibitively increase the workload of the sheet.
The game that Parksville beat Victoria was on Feb 1. Although Vic beat PK twice in the latest week, it should be expected because they are a much better team. Peninsula is ranked where they are because they beat a top ten team (Comox (7) on Feb 1).

I'm going to post a modified rankings that negate the effects of 'Quality Wins'. But they are much more boring, and mostly only change with a league standings change. Give me 5 minutes.

These rankings are the ones I mentioned in the above post. They negate the 'Quality Wins'. Standings are the league standings. As there are 14 teams in the KIJHL, the values are halved, so that there are two of each placing. Note that the standings are 1111222233334444555566667777, not that interesting. This is what I originally had as the formula, but it wasn't a good way to compare the three leagues. The quality wins make is possible for a team to climb the standings, and it punishes streaky teams that often lose against much poorer teams.
