Well the Storm coaches wanted last night's game to carry two messages. No. 1 they wanted the top team from the South to know they're in for one hell of a fight if they make it to the finals. No. 2 and most important is to go into the playoffs Sunday on a high. Well they accomplished both messages - in spades.
The Storm were flying. A total of 72 shots, including 34 in the second period. They looked like a team on a mission - sixth straight VIJHL titles.
Foote loooked strong with Vitoria having 36 shots, most of which though, were not quality ones. Cowden had a pair of goals, but I'm sure he figures he should have had five or six, he had a lot of great chances. All the lines looked great and the 'D' played outstanding. Plus Giroux took it to Deacon.
The only thing to worry about is there is a flu bug in the Storm camp right now. Forsman sat out with the flu last night and a couple of other players were feeling symtoms.
Let the second season begin!!!!!!

I saw speedy wingers, strong d, but the weak link is in goal. Foote had very easy shots to stop for the most part, but the tough ones were troublesome for him. And his delay of game penalty shows a lack of focus. The only thing weaker than the shot-stopper, is the shot counter. I see why the stats are so skewed, I was watching the shot clock tick over every time the puck was thrown towards the net. That volunteer needs some training.

He took on Deacon, but he certainly didn't take it to Deacon. What was the result when Andre checked his own guy into the boards...#12?...looked like a concussion. Nice Check.

Do you think the round robin format will help or hinder the north teams? I wonder if it's a rough round robin, the survivor could be pretty banged-up.

Saw Deacon after the 2nd period, not a mark on him. Didn't see our player but he got rocked back in his boots on a couple of shots, must be tough guy, better to use his playing skills.

Hey Steve Brown of Victoria Cougars.....aka Boomer321 if you didn't want people to find out who's beaking the northern teams then i wouldn't use your own email adress as a log in name....but I have to apologize for one thing cuz you won't be able to see # 10 of comox in the finals...even if they do get past the juice and cr..
(sorry again, we all don't like that #10, but I had to edit)
