worst reffing ive ever seen

Worst Storm effort I have ever seen! Comox simply outplayed us in every facet of the game-from the goalmouth out. The senior guys seem to have lost all incentive to play smart and play hard. Andre-looks like he's at the rink for public skating. Cam Walters-bad passes, poor decisions, no effort.

Hopefully it was just a very bad game and they can snap out of it for Parksville. If not the season will be over too soon.

It's too common for the Storm to blame a loss on poor refereeing......at least AJ says the Storm played badly.

I agree that the reffing in last night's game was bad, however, I have seen worse. It is also true that the Storm were outplayed. They certainly did not look like a team out there last night. The Comox Valley Glacier Kings played a great game. They skated hard, checked hard and charged the net at every opportunity. Congratulations Kings on a game well played. Hopefully Campbell River can pull up their socks, find their team spirit, and play like we know they can on Tuesday against Parksville.

yes, the guys didn't play up to the level they have been playing at that is a for sure thing. But also, i don't think i have ever seen worse refereeing in my whole entire life. The guy didnt even let the game flow for longer than 10 seconds without handing out misconducts, coincidentals, stupid stupid stupid penalties for playoff hockey. He handed out pretty dumb ones to courtenay also, butt..I think that guy shoulda been wearing a kings jersey. Barrrutal. That's all i can say. He needs to find a new job. As for our guys... i think it was a good wake-up call saying that comox isn't going down without a fight.. last night they showed 200 times more heart and drive then the guys did.. hopefully something they can work on for friday agaisnt them.

Why do the fans of the most penalized team in the league (by far) blame the refs for them taking stupid penalties? Could it be lack of discipline?

yep, Comox out played the STORM last night, but it wasn't Lamberts or Walters fault, the whole team had tought time. There is so many players who are playing playoffs for the first time, and it shows. There is no room for "show boaters" or "individual" players. Come on guys, follow the lead of the veterns and play "team hockey" The fans are behind you all the way

ya fans are behin you all the way......till they lose.....even when pville took the lead 2-1 in the 2nd period, the fans started to boo the storm players, then when they retook the lead it was as if they couldn't love anythign anymore.....the fans are as rocky on the band wagon as the storm are rocky in the playoffs.....the season that really matters

A bad game is just that, a bad game. The good teams bounce back from those games, and I have no reason to believe that the Storm won't come back and win the remaining games, they know what it takes, and will show it. Go Storm.

btw, PIJHL leaders, Abbotsford lost 11-0 in game 3 of their series. Are they going to lose the series? I really doubt that.

Whoever said the fans were booing Storm.. where's your head at? Maybe they were booing slater because he's just a classy guy.not.... or booing the opposite team perhaps. Maybe comox fans? who would pay 9 dollars to get into a storm game and boo them? don't think so. They had a bad game. that was the first game all year that i can recall that they've lost that badly...it happens, you win some you loose some. And no one can disagree with me when i say the refs were horrible. i wanted to puke. not saying that they're the reason why they lost, because it wasnt. But what else do you expect.. everyone wants storm to loose. They've won 5 years in a row.. who wouldnt be against them. except for the cr fans that is.

don't you recall the game against the pilots. i believe the score was 7-0 was it not. but i guess you storm fans like to forget those types of games eh

Also, about the reffing. 235 PIM is not a hockey game, that's just insane. 33 penalties to the Storm, 32 to Comox. That's over 1 penalty per minute of hockey. How can that be good reffing? I think that goes beyond bad discipline. Must have been a great game to watch.

So I guess the reason the Storm lost is because Comox scored 7 goals on that one extra powerplay. Yah, right.

I don't think I have ever heard the Storm fans boo the Storm team. Maybe you're confused, are you talking about the same Storm fans who attend every home game? The same fans who travel to out of town games to support the team? The same fans who cheer for the team even when they are losing? The same fans who are still chanting Go Storm Go even when they are down 7-0? Us Storm fans think the Storm team is great and support them always so give your head a shake and think before you write ridiculous things like that on here. GO STORM GO!!!!!

I have watched most of the Storm games over the six years and I have yet to hear the Storm fans boo them at Strathcona Gardens. In fact, this season the fans are the loudest and most supportive of all the six seasons.
Sure the Storm lost big time Saturday (by the way the period scores were 1-0 and 3-0), but they must of taken a lot out of Comox with the Kings losing 3-0 to Parksville the next night.
The Storm just have to get back to THEIR game plan and not get stuck into playing the other team's game plan.
This is a team that averaged 6.25 goals per game, I have no doubt they'll battle back.

If the storm went out and accually played the game of hockey instead of going out there and trying to slash and hack people then they might have a chance of winning but comox is just more disiplined than the storm and they will capitalize on that. I think that it will be a great north final if both teams play hockey and they get a decent ref that lets them play, it should be exciting, fast paced hockey.

storm isnt as disciplined as comox? look at the numbers pal? did you fail to see that slats was trying to kick granbois after he tackled him to the ground? ya thats discipline. i think the ref failed to see that too. but no worries. storm will always be looked at as the hacking, slashing, cheap team. gotta pick at least 1 flaw out hey.

But your opinion doesn't match the facts. In 48 games the Storm had 2633 PIMs, compared to Comox with 1882. A pattern develops over that many games (different refs, different refs), but the fact is that the Storm are 40% "dirtier" than Comox.

Poor Storm, Check the Stats from Sat night's Game. 112 PIM's Storm, 127 PIM's for Comox. Oh, I hear that the Ref kicked in five of the seven goals himself. What we saw was a frustrated team, poorly coached, reacting as you would expect to the wheels falling off. Check with your local minor hockey association as to the time of the next Ref clinic. I'm sure that the VIJHL will be looking for some new blood next year. This way all those critics could get in there and do the perfect job themselves. Go ahead, step up or shut up.

There you go, you said it yourself. They reacted as any team would when they were down 7-0. Comox got what they deserved. It was a dirty game for both teams. Comox had 1 less penalty. Yippee. I bet a 12 year old can do better than that ref did. I would, but you know what they say, those who can't play hockey, ref it. Im not critisizing all of the refs in the VIJHL, just that one. that's all, didn't realize this was such a touchy subject for you.
