June 6, 2003--Junior Senators snag Cowden and Ouellet
Earlier this week, the Ottawa Junior Senators of Ontario's Central Junior Hockey League (CJHL) signed two of last season's top Storm players in Brad Cowden and Pat Ouellet. As a rookie forward last season, Cowden, 19, of North Vancouver, slotted 64 points, 36 goals and 28 assists, to earn the team's Rookie of the Year award, as well as, tie for the team's Top Scorer Award. Also in his rookie season with the Storm, Ouellet, 19, of Baie-Comeau, Quebec, earned 41 points in 43 games, 10 goals and 31 assists. Ouellet was named the team's Best Defenseman of 2002/03.
"The Ottawa Junior Senators are very pleased to have two Junior 'A' caliber hockey players to come to our organization. We are going to do everything we can to help them to achieve their goals of NCAA scholarships," said Sens coach Rick Ladouceur.
