It sounds like some of the other teams are hurting units. Maybe the PIJHL should absorb the remaining VIJHL teams and make an island division of the PIJHL. That would bring more competition to the VIJHL teams that want to compete and improve.

what would the costs be like involved in that?
Huge ferry/bus/hotel costs.
A team like the Storm may be better off putting the money into an arena and trying to go JrA.
No doubt that would make for a pretty awesome league though.

Word has it that Saanich will be in the League again this year with ownership still in the hands of the Saanich M.H.A.
Apparently the Coach's from last year are back again too. Crowder will be Head Coach in name only. Connors will actually be running (ruining?) the team.
Watch out for a team that will underachieve last years performance, from the top down.

Costs would be huge. The games would have to be afternoon games so that they could catch the last ferry back. Or they would have to get hotels or billets in the Lower Mainland. It is just a pipedream, but it would be cool. A home and home against Abbotsford would be killer. I'm sure that many Storm fans would make the trip. The club could even have package deals that include bus, ferry, hotel and game tickets and recover some of their travelling costs that way.

Parksville is not going to fold in the upcomming season, they have a brand new rink that should be finished early october and have already sent out invitations for their training camp.

you should suggest it...put forth a plan
i'm sure the people of CR would love to have some new talent and teams in the arena
the same 6 teams are starting to become a bore, you always know what they are going to be like before they even start. :(
