WHERE DO YOU GET NUTRO IVE HEARD OF THIS. IS IT PRETTY EXPENSIVE, NOT THAT I WANT TO FEED THEM CHEAP BUT EVERYONE ON HERE KNOWS HOW QUICK DOG FOOD CAN GO WHEN YOU HAVE SEVERAL DOGS. I WAS FEEDING THEM WITH PURINA DOG CHOW BUT THEN GOT THE SPORTMIX PREMIUM BECAUSE I WANTED TO TRY SOME NEW FOOD TO SEE IF I CAN GIVE THE HEALTHIER COATS. ANY OPINIONS FOR FOOD THAT WILL MAKE THEM HAVE REALLY NICE COATS. THEY ARE OUTSIDE DOGS SO IT IS HARD TO KEEP THERE COATS REAL HEALTHY. NOT THAT THERE IS PROBLEMS, IM JUST LOOKING FOR MORE LUSTER AND GLEAM OUT IT

i used both brands on 5 pits and 2 schnauzers all outside-and they were both excellent-the nutro is more expensive it can range up to 35 for i think a 40pd depending where you get it -petsmart, petco-sometimes you can get it at feed places-everyone that i know that has more pits than i do-feeds their dogs diamond-it can go as cheap as 16 for 40pds-nutro though is recommended by all the petsmarts vet people i have talken to because its just as a good and just like science diet and eukanuba
Most all commercial dog food is crap period (if you ever saw how they make it and what they use to make it you wouldnt give it to your dog). But in reality if your feeding a number of dogs its a reality. If what your wanting to do is shine the dogs coat up and just give them a healthy glow here ya go.... feed whatever commercial feed you are using ...every day put a boiled egg with the kibble (bad for gas but good for dog). Also go to Wal Mart ...buy a container of "whey protein" its by the body building supplenments etc in the pharmacy area. At least 3 times a week mix up some in water and put it on the dogs food use one heaping tablespoon in a small amount of water. Whey protein is a powerful protein and is easily digested and distributed. You will see a change pretty quick.
Contact Bates and tell him you need some "Barley Life" he carries it in his nutrition business . Every dog should be on this excellent product in my opinion. He can explain why when you contact him. There is plenty of scientific proof to back it up!
Thanks

The stuff I feed mine is called Nature's Recipe. I think their website is www.naturesrecipe.com I'm not sure though. I buy the stuff at petsmart. I feed them the adult lamb and Alex gets that with a mixture of the puppy lamb. They have all kinds though, even a venison formula.

I feed a combination of RAW, Eukanuba Premium Performance, Candiae All Life Stages and Innova EVO.
The Innova EVO is the best in my opinion, but it is $46 for a 28 pound bag... which is pricey. It does have the highest Kcal per cup though so you don't need to feed near as much.
Also I shoot a Deer a month and grind it up into burger and supplement the kibble with RAW venison.

Hammer you go to shootin a deer a month in Louisiana they will throw ya in jail lol
But that sounds awesome!!
I go to the butcher about once a month and get some big raw beef bones with some of the meat and sinew on them and that works great for cleaning the dogs teeth

I use that plus Whey Protein and occasionally a couple pills of Creatine taken apart. This to give the dog a muscled look and because in people it allows longer duration of exercise involving strength so I would think it would help with weight pulling. Anyone else have opinions on Creatine, I've had two accomplished pullers recommend it.
I had an old timer who has had many successful pulling and show dogs tell me he gives his dogs tuna 1x weekly (one can) as another source of protein so I do that occasionally too.
