Crosspost for Ernest at Hardwood Kennels!
We all strive to promote our breed in a positive way and now we need your help. We are in the process of trying to get weight pull added to the Fort Worth Stock Show. We were asked to host one leg of the king of rails here in Texas. We felt as a kennel that on such short notice that 2007 was not the right time to put on a quality show that we all deserve. We are now working with those that oversee the stock show to add it to the venue as early as 2008. We are trying to promote a positive attitude not just for our breed but for all breeds. We are getting outside investors to show interest in our sport and also from companies of products we use.
The weight pulling season will kickoff this year starting in Louisiana and we will be inviting investors and company reps out to the shows. Please believe that we will be looked at with a fine tooth comb on the way we dress, handle our dogs, our proffesonalism, sportsmanship, etc.. We also asked them to look at message boards.
We all don't agree with certain bloodlines but please let us respect the breed. They have seen enough hatred among the pittbull community, now is the time to show the positive. It is time to show that we can have intelligent conversations on a message board. People do pay attention to negative before they see the positive. When their is a pitbull attack we all are singled out because the majority of the time it was one of us that sold them the dog, not caring if the person is responsible but, because they had 500 dollars in their hand. A pitbull is not for everyone. We have turned down the sell of dogs here recently because the intentions were not in the best interest of our breed.
We need your support with this obstacle. If you support a dog food or a animal product by purchasing their product it is time for them to return the favor. We do have contact numbers to members of Hardwood Kennel on our website. If you have any questions feel free to call.
THANK YOU,
EARNEST

Great message Earnest,
I agree with what he is saying about dressing and acting better. I too will do my part to be a better representative of this wonderful breed that I have been consumed with for some time now. Please make an effort to show that you support the breed in a positive way when we are at the pull. Having your kennel shirts, club shirts, and bulldog logos shows what you do. Your actions and interactions shows who you are and that is the part we definitely want to portray a positive image of. At the last few shows that I have been to there have been a number of people who are new to the sport asking a ton of questions. Let's all do our part to make them feel welcome and allow them to experience the pull positively. Whether it is allowing someone to help you pull a dog you have, when the weight is light of course,LOL or just answering their questions respectfully. These are some of my ideas that I think shows people what kind of people we really are. We all have a passion for this sport and these dogs so let's show that positively.

Well said men...Thank you Lord!Even if we only did it for the fact that we should be role models in front of small children...the cursing and use of GD this FU this... that takes place at shows is clearly a no-no in my book, have some respect for your wives, children, others and the breed! We can all be better mentors of the sport! Thanks!

TAKE NOTICE.
I HAVE PULLED WITH A.B. A FEW TIMES LOOK HOW WELL THEY ARE TAKEN CARE OF. ALWAYS BRIGHT WHITE, AND CLEAN. THEN WE BRING OUR DOGS OUT. THEY ARE PINK FROM THE SAND STAINS. SO I WILL DO MY BEST TO GIVE BATH'S BEFORE I HEAD TO ANY SHOW FROM HERE ON OUT.
THIS ISN'T DIRECTED AT ANYBODY. BECAUSE I SEE PLEANY OF ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT
FOR MYSELF.

I agree James ... whole heartadly. Someone is taking the initiative and stepping up to make a positive move (that will help everyone not the least of which is the dogs) its our obligation to help them as members of this fraternity.
Feel free to call on me for my help. I have a number of skills I feel can be of service and I wont hesitate to use them in an effort to make a bold move for the dogs and the sport.
Remember NASCAR was a bunch of hillbillies racing stock cars in a cotton patch. Because of some enterprising people with a vision and desire to make it happen its now a multi billion dollar venture with a world wide following. Valuable lesson to be learned from this.
There is awesome power in numbers and especially numbers who are united with a common goal.
Hardwood I am at your disposal please do not hesitate to call on me for help if you feel I can be of service to you.
Thanks
