I was just wondering if anyone was still breeding the pure whopper dogs. We got the oppurtunity to see some whopper dogs in the dallas area that were over 100 lbs and solid black. They say the guy that bred them was involved in weightpulling. these dogs were awsome and they had never done any weighpulling. I am looking for one of these big black monsters. can anyone point me in the right way. i was told this board may help.

I don't know who the parents are, but they were supposed to be pure whopper and they were huge. the guy did tell me that the bguy that bred them was a weightpuller and was local. they were out this weekend at the park and everyone was impressed. they had several dogs from this guy. they had puppies for sale off their dogs but they were priced very high. just checking around to maybe find the original guy.

Whopper dogs!

This board consists of many, many weight pulling folks and almost every single one of them own what we feel is the best of the best...it just comes down to this...go to a weight pull, see who truly possess good true 100 lb. dogs and pick one of them that you prefer the style of and go from there...as far as true weight pulling weights...there are very few that consistently top the century mark on a regular basis and the number is even less of those that consistently can produce dogs of this size and stature on a regular basis...just go to a show, watch, observe and take note and you be the judge...then ask around and see who consistently has dogs in the 100 lb range and most may have one or two at most...then look and observe who consistently produces dogs of this size on a regular basis and who can show proof of this by consistently showcasing dogs of this stature...size is not everything, but owning yard full of 100 lbers'is pretty intimidating to the general public! Thanks!

James

The "Original Person" who bred the Whooper dogs was Eddie Eddington and he's dead now but Rick Kunze is still around I think. I could be wrong.

Dee,
That would be Randy Kirby and he does live in the Dallas area...he is a cop for the Dallas police Dept...his boy Big Jauch is black brindle and weighs 98#...not to be controversial but he has never seen a weight pull track...I've owned a few sons from Jauch...most recently "Bodacious" about 3-4 years ago...Greg also owned a dog from that very same litter "Hillbilly"...Randy is a super nice guy,but I think even he would be the first to tell you,his dogs do not weight pull competitively...!

Sean,
Your right,he was a grandson to Jauch...however I did not say he was a littermate to Jauch...I originally said he was a son of Jauch...I stand corrected...my main point was this,Randy does not weight pull,Jauch has never pulled to my knowledge and he is not black...close,but black brindle...and the 100% Whopper...nottrue..Laird's "Jap",Laird's "Wilma",Freeman,Woods,Plumber's,Mayfield,Tufftown,Greenwood's,Yarbrough,Sorrell's just to name a few...that was my biggest point I was trying to make...I hate for someone to be mislead...sounds like Carlton ran across some nice big dogs he really liked,so why lie and tell him they are 100% Whopper...no such creature lurks in these parts, that much I am sure of...I'm not even sure the old die hards have kept enough around and bred em' tight enough to even create a pure Whopper dog that a seven generation pedigree would support! That was the point I was trying help Carlton with! Thanks!

Antonio,
Rick is still around he lives in Northern OK...still actively pulls...has some great dogs...I'm not real sure he even messes with the big stuff much anymore...he focuses primarily on his small Vinny dogs...he does still own to the best of my knowledge "Little Rippin"...I just pulled against him this past weekend in CO...Mike Bunch was pulling him,I believe Rick still owns that dog though...correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh yeah...that reminds me...Rick is a huge OU fan...Rick I got something for you next time I see...If I know your coming, just holler!

Anon,
There are many great dogmen and Whopper dogs still around...some do not even pull anymore, but they are not to be overlooked as far as dogs go though...there should be a ton in your area...most come right here from time to time...Bruce Powell,Shelton Medlock,Matt House,Todd Woods,Chad Simpson,Devin Goodner,Randy McCall,Mike Hansen and the list goes on and on...I even have a few just 18 Whopper dogs on my yard...!

the guys didn't mislead me. they did say the dogs were tight whopper bred dogs and they came from a guy that also weight pulls in the area. they were showing off the dogs and the dogs were very impressive. i just asked for help to see if any one knew a weightpuller in the area that these dogs may have come from. trying to see if he is still breeding. also just cause you don't have what i am looking for then don't you try to mislead me. that is one thing i was told about to watch out for.
these guys didn't give much info account were we where and they don't trust to many people account they are street hustlers if you know what i mean.

Carlton,
That's a heck of a way to do somebody who tried to help you...! Good luck...oh yeah,I don't know you at all and was trying to help you...if the guys you are looking for were truly active pullers as they claim, then somebody on here would been all over it by now and helped you out...I was just trying to help you and your gonna come back with some trash...I can't really make sense of what exactly your trying to say on account it just does not make sense to me...but let's get one thing clear...I'm not trying to sell you nothing,I'm not trying to sell anybody anything...you don't find me nowhere making no sales pitch to anybody...I'm very secure in what I have and I'm not out for anything but to compete and win and have a good time doing it...I don't meddle in others business at all and certainly don't talk about anything else...I very seldom get involved and you probably just broke me from ever trying to help again...have a good day!

I notice one thing on this board, and that is you are very sensitive when someone doesn't agree with you. No you don't have the tight whopper dogs and you you try to pursway others from seeking into others that do have better bred dogs. you do have some good ordinary dogs but they are not great. sometimes you need to check your own ego.
Carlton i am pretty sure someone will help you out. The game has changed with dogs. that has driven many of the great pullers from competing or even attending a show because it is not the same. It was competitive and fun at one time. now thier is to much deception involved.
alot of guys look at the boards but don't respond. alot of the guys that once pulled are embarrassed by whats going on and just don't want to be apart of it anymore. its sad to say but we have ruin the sport we love becase we need to be the center of attention. or we falsefy papers and act like its okay, we sell lies. not all people involved are bad but the good ones protect the bad ones. one day we will gain intgrity again, one day we will care or we want have these dogs.
