I know there is a big hype and a lot of excitement toward the adba and apa nationals, but, who all is planning to go to the aadr nationals and does anyone have any predictions?!

I am bringing Incy 65lb female. I am excited to go this pull, if nothing else, to meet all of the "Legends" that I have heard so much about, Mr. Mealer, Mr. Bates, Mr. Bettes, the Douglas' etc. The pull can't get here fast enough!!!! By the way, I have a male that has never been on a rail system. Knowing that this is a HUGE weekend-is this the right time to bring him and let him pull before or after the comp, or should I enter him and just see how he does?

I dont consider myself a Legend, but if your dog has never been on rails I would take him somewhere and get him on track before this show, or it will be a costly 3 pulls if he jumps off track or something like that, if you cant do that then I would say yeah bring him and let him see what the track is all about, its all about having a good time and seeing all the dogs pull,
I cant wait this show is about an hour and 15 min. west of my house,
and there will be some of the best dogs around there, The Red River
the border of "Texas and Oklahoma" the Home of Weight Pulling !!

Johnny,
I'm certainly not a legend in anything, but I'm sure flattered at your comment...on the other hand,if you have the money to pull your dog and get him some experience and are not really expecting much from him, just do whatever you can and enjoy yourself...it's fun to just be a part of the show!I'm just a gray headed ol man having fun! Thanks!

Mr. Bates, about five years ago I had emailed you with a few weight pull questions, regarding training, sleds, that sort of thing, and I still hve that email, and pretty much go by what you told me. i consider you a legend, because of #1 what your dogs have accomplished, #2 by your willingness to help, and #3 consistancy. Mr. Mealer- I place you in that same boat as Mr. Bates, the few phone calls that we have had, you have helped me or simply answered questions that I might have had-and I thank you. There are countless others that I look up to in the sport of weight pulling-and hopefully most of them will be there. all I ask is that if I do bring my Boy "D", please help me out!!! Both positive and negative feedback is welcomed. Everyone have a great night and God Bless!!!!

Oct 6-7 Gainsville Texas not sure of the location
I think the aadr national conformation might be in NC.
James and Shelton would know
James told me where it was at but I forgot
said it was a real nice place
kind of like the place Texoma use to hold shows at
I think the 70 lb and under are on Sat.
and 70 lb and over on Sun.
CANT WAIT !!!!

Johnny if Bates is legendary its on account of his BBQ ....the boy can make a smoker sing. And don't do bad with a string of boudain either IF ya look back on this message board a year or two back according to a bunch of em he couldn't breed or train a bulldog much less build a top flight working dog. Ahhhhh doggie politics ya gotta laugh at em ....

what is the deal....almost every post is different....somebody needs to explain why its in gainesville and what day etc.....
Obviously the website is wrong cause it puts it in a diff state and later in october.....Greg said it was 6th and 7th...and he was hyped....I'm assuming that he is correct....I'll just call sheltdawg.....he'll clear it up.
