I can understand, because this is a proven line, getting between 1 and 2 thousand a pup, but $6,000? You aren't bettering the breed. You are a career breeder-backyard breeder. You may not have a litter every heat but who would if they make that kind of money per pup. I swear, we have folks like vick that make us take a step back-then the money hungry i-only-have-dogs-to-make-money people like you. Here's and idea, get a job!!!

anon you need to deal with facts instead of fantasy....I applaud the guy for gettin that if he can...I'd bet money that a man that pays that for a dog will care for that dog with the utmost care. Its common sense. you wont find any six thousand dollar dogs sittin on a chain in the backyard of a crack house unless they stole em. Put two and two together and use some common sense.

I'm using facts not fantasy. The facts are this. what have his dogs done? Any titles? Any awards? None to my knowledge, just riding the coattails of other peoples successes. You look at any breeder that has dogs with titles and THOSE dogs aren't selling for that amount. My biggest concern is that money is playing a bigger part that bettering the breed. Making that much money on dogs-kudos for that. It is what it is. I just come from a family where if you make money you earn it. JMO.

Jasmine I suggest you talk to Bates about a dog. He is a long time breeder/trainer and has some outstanding blood like what your looking for. No need to fool with any of the backyarders your on the message board of the guy that has the top flight stuff. He won't bs you and he stands behind his dogs which is rare these days. If he doesn't have a dog that will do what your wanting he will tell you straight up and recommend you to another reputable breeder. I am currently training up a Bates Whopper dog for the sheriff dept and have owned a number of his dogs through the years and I recommend him.

always be sure that any breeder you deal with has a rep for supporting you with your dog after the sale. There are a million folks slinging pitbull puppies for a dollar these days so do your home work. I know for a fact that Bates has replaced dogs who died under dubious circumstances and were clearly not due to any problem of the breeder.
