i was wondering if anyone has any knowledge about dogs having allergic reactions or allergies to anything. i keep straw in the dog house for bedding when they are outside and my pup gets real red under his back legs, stomach, and under the front legs and his eyes look irritated i am assuming he is allergic to straw and is there another type off bedding that wouldnt become a scattered mess through the yard and it doesnt have to be very insulating considering its about summer but any input would be greatly appreciated thanks.

He probably dont need bedding......most dogs love blankets...but they usually just drag them out of the dog house to lay on them. Since it aint cold I wouldnt use bedding....or get if you have to, get some good wood shavings...they ones that aint gonna hurt the pup....cause he will chew and eat on some of it...I think white wood shavings are best but I cant remember. I always find a good piece of carpet and line it in the dog box/house. if they keep pulling it out then buy some steel snaps and install them on the carpet and dog house....or just use a staple gun. Yeah gotta flea dust it about once a week though...cause them fleas love that bedding too.

You can give him some benadryl cream or aloevera cream....like for sunburns.....and that will help a lot on the redness....I've done that before on a dog and they loved.....they also loved to lick it off!lol

Yeah...the carpet squares is the way I go...I just cut out a square from some left over projects and use them in the dog houses until they rip em up or you have to replace them...
