Now I am going to touch a topic that many pitbull breeders might find as taboo. But lets just be honest for a sec.... Now the pitbull is a dog the was breed by many people for may different reason ..weight pulling, hunting ,guardians and back then fighting...It was breed with may different dogs too..to increase in its purpose.. mastiffs whatever type it maybe. different types of terries and so on and on..The pitbull it self is a dog that has a lot in it and can be created all over again and has .... Now are they the pure apbt that was once.. No..no Whopper or Dagger will pass for this..but is the evolution of the breed.. We don't fight then anymore so what can we do???

So now I want to ask the real people that are honest ...Have anybody tried to breed a pitbull with some thing else then its self...bullmastiff, neopolitan, english, presa, bulldog, any thing... I would like to know how its went. What it looks like... I know that the Bandog was on its way to becoming a breed but fell short.. Now has anybody tried to do the some.??.. Me personally. I am asking because I would like to try... a Pitbull in to a French Mastiff..!!!

What do you guys think??

Any thought and comments??

Hey

No offense but just go back through this message board topics and you will see plenty of old discussions on this subject, it has been discussed many, many, many times over.

All of these crosses that you mentioned in your post have been done already by some folks.

Just google it and you'll find plenty of pictures and info.

In the archives of this board it is full of pertinent information.

It's just that ever since the board was created, there has been a lot of conflicts about the subject and users don't want to hear it no more.

Take care

Hey anon, stop being a cry-baby and show yourself, grosse noune!

Information

For your information :

No offense intended :

I checked the website you posted and the information gathered from the website clearly states that the dog you are referring to ''RedBull'' is a Bandog.

If I am not mistaken, the website states Rocky Mountain Bulldogs because it is located in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains are there.

To my knowledge it is a Bandog.

It even says that on the pictures of the dog (Bandog).

To add on to this, this Bandog you are referring to is a Neo-Boxer-AB mix.
(I am just using the info on the site).
I had difficulty finding the Bandog females that this Redbull dog reproduces into, so I cannot comment on the other breeds ran into the mix, but it seems that we have a bunch of dogs scrammed into one to produce something else but in the end this bloodline is not even close to being proven in any ways because there is few generations to base a solid opinion, and we don't know what these dogs are used for, looks? performance? if yes, what kind of working abilities?
(hopefully that makes sense).

I am assuming that the AB used in this particular dog is of Johnson also known as Bully type because that is what he has in his stock.

(Personally the Standard, Scott type AB would have been better if the PURPOSE was for breeding for performance and not looks).
It is known that Johnson AB was bred for size and looks then for performance, and the Standard, Scott type was bred for performance first, looks and size second).

Did I loose anybody here? lol
If not I said all this because creating a new breed takes time and several generations to know what you will have in the end, and I am not bashing this person's bandog.

I'm just giving some info here, the Presa Canario was re-created in the 70's (they were extinct prior), that is an example of a new breed that was made, although they were much smaller back in the days (1700's-1900's) but the recreation of this breed focused on size and guarding abilities instead of you know what!

Check out Dogo Argentino also...

So those are examples of breeds that have been made starting with two different breeds and adding breeds and breeds to finally come to a final prduct.

Anyways, I can't say what breeds would be good to mix together because I don't have knowledge of most breeds, only a few.

No bashing intended, just some info.

Take care

Wikipedia?

Just to inform you about wikipedia... Anyone with an email and username can log on to there and type what they want. So don't base your opinions off the internet any more than you base opinions on this message board. To gain knowlege you have to read books and study charts and talk to real people and programs that know the "facts". 99% of everyone's point of view is always opinions based on there experiences. So I wouldn't trust the internet to base my opinions on....

This is just my opinion victor.

I can guarantee you that anyone who has ever created a recognized breed in the past did not base there work off of using just the internet.

I just would like to provide the public with facts..not opinions but facts..not onetime did anyone refer a book, quote from a bandog breeder or anything... whats the point of having access to the world wide web that composites all of the world information form books, history ,articles, blogs ,newspapers and so on so on for our pleasure.. lets think about that.....

I know it not easy trying to crate a new breed but I respect those that are.. They are the pioneers of the new frontier and maybe one day we will have one of their finish product in competition too....
