I thought the same thing. Alot of kennels dont even care about there dogs they sell them like there are a piece of property and not think twice. People need money these days because the econdemy introuble but, selling your dogs that you had for along time. that could not be me at all. Do they really care for the dogs. or do they see dogs a profit to get them out of a jam:( if you get affended on what i am saying then you proply the ones that think of your dogs as a profit.

Well I'm not sure who you are speaking too...but I'll clarify my situation...not that I owe that explanation to anybody, but I'm never offended by explaining my situation...First off I've been self employed for over 14 years...my business is closing down...economic damper has all but killed any profit I've had and my overhead is enormous...were switching gears totally...I've got some leads on new jobs and gonna pursue my career 1st and foremost so I can survive and care for my family...that means were gonna sale our home and relocate wherever that may be...I'm not gonna be able to pick up and take 30 dogs with me...so I'm letting em' go right now in preparation...I'll only take 5 dogs with me.

Now I'm quite sure about anyone else...but as far as I see it a man's business is just that ...his business...you really owe nobody any explanation at all about anything personal. It just kills me when comments like the one below are made...I don't care if a man has to get to the point of selling the shirt right off his back...if that's what it takes to feed the family...you gotta commend a man willing to do what it takes in order to see his kids get fed and get a good education...I've taken care of more dogs for more years than you can imagine Nancy...now there comes a time when other things in life take precedence over certain other things...now I have enough common sense to understand when that time is...plus your not the one that owns this house, this land,or my belongings and your not gonna be responsible for moving them either...but I can assure you of this these dogs I've owned and I've sold my share at good price for many, many years will never come close to paying what I've invested into them or the money I've spent on them...in other words there is no profit margin here and selling dogs certainly is not gonna provide one for me and my family to survive on!

Nancy,
Thanks for clarifying...no I'm not completely letting go as of yet...but darn near...to me it will be like a clearing house of sorts...just comes a time in life when certain things take precedence over a dang MWP or MWPP trophy...the things just collect dust anyway and to be honest I'm taking off nameplates and donating them to clubs anyway, cause I just don't have room for anymore in my home...I got involved in the sport to have fun and learn something about these dogs...I've accomplished that and had fun doing it...but I'm totally burnt out on how the politics dominate the sport to the point that certain things are said and done...I'm against things that are not morally right and when I approach such things I have no problem voicing that and some people cannot take that or simply put cannot take getting beat...whichever it really is makes no difference to me at this point cause I've got a bad taste in my mouth and simply do not want to be around some people involved in this sport anymore...I'm just gonna change gears a bit,cut back and regroup...I'm gonna pull some in different venues and finish up championing my dogs where it counts on paper and means something for the dog's sake... not mine!

You must have me confused with someone else...I've been in these dogs a long time but I never ever knew Eddie Eddington personally and I will even attempt to mislead anyone...I'm a realtive newby to this sport...In my book your a newboot till you put in some work and do some things in the sport...I have been actively pulling since 2002...I overcame some huge odds in 2005 ADBA Nationals and won a Championship with a 15 month old puppy against one of the largest fields I've ever pulled against and did it the first year the new rule changes moved the dogs to the 75 & over class...since then no 100 lb dog has even come close to repeating that feat...that gives some true reflection of what my boy accomplished early on...and he is due all the credit...had I known more and used my head more wisely he could have even been more dominant.

I'm gonna cut back to Mr.Rip,Demon,Nature Boy,Dutchess,& Ruby for now...I have some young prospects as well...definitely below 10 dogs total...my breeding days are more than likely done and I'll only occassionally offer pups for sale.

I've seen on many, many sites where people have taken pictures of all the trophies they have accumulated and proudly displayed them...so before I totally bow out I would like to take all my MWPP & MWP trophies, plaques, ribbons, medals and display them and pay tribute to the dogs that so valiantly gave me there all every single time they turned out!If my math is correct that tally will be 80+ at current...Thank you Lord, may the glory be all yours!
