Dog Law Texas: Here is a chance to
talk to your lawmakers!

and, yes, there is a difference."
Permission granted to crosspost.
April 4, 2009
"Responsible Pet Owners Lobby Day" in Austin is next Wednesday, April 8th.
If you haven't made appointments with your legislators yet, better hurry!
Their names can be found on the state website: www.capitol.state.tx.us by
filling in your address in the Search Box on the lower right side.
We've heard from approximately 100 people who plan to attend but we MUST
have 200 people if you expect to attract any attention! We have the room
from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. So bring a sack lunch and drinks have been
donated.
We've been told no animals allowed. HOWEVER: Do take pictures of your
animals to show legislators -- no matter what species -- as RPOA is an
all-species all encompassing animal organization that believes deeply in the
human/animal bond. Ask legislators what pets they have!
MEDIA AND PRESS CONFERENCE:
David Frei, Westminster Kennel Club, and "Uno," the Beagle that took
Westminster's Best In Show last year will be our Ambassador of Good Will for
the day. We have special permission to bring in "Uno" who will be
woo-wooing legislators also. "Uno" is a member (and donor!) of Responsible
Pet Owners Alliance and exemplifies the good breeding that will be lost if
the radicals get their way.
David and "Uno" will speak to the media at 10:00 am in Room 210 of the Sam
Houston Building (adjacent to the Capitol Bldg) where we are meeting. Be
there for the TV cameras and let the legislators know that there is
opposition to the extreme agenda of Texas Humane Legislation Network and
HSUS to end all pet breeding. We are organized and WE VOTE!
Go to: www.rpoatexasoutreach.org , click on "Lobby Day" Link for all the
information including suggested dialogue if you need it for speaking with
your legislator, maps of grounds and all floors, visitors parking garage,
restrooms, etc.
We're also preparing information for all the legislators which will be
distributed. Bill information is being posted this weekend and all should
be up by late tomorrow. We're way behind adding new subscribers to our
TX-RPOA E-News but hope to be caught up by Monday or so.
If you have any questions, email Jacque in our office at jacque15@att.net .
Remember: RPOA is only as powerful as "you" make it!
