Sound of the O-Shen
by Kalani Wilhelm / 01-04-2006
To island reggae artist O-Shen when the streets meets the jungle, Faya is born.
A scorching hot, wild and crazy crowd is what is in store Saturday when the Na Hoku Hanohano award-winning O-shen hits Pipeline Cafe for the first big rootsfest of 2k6 to celebrate the release of his new album Faya.
Expect special guests and surprises as Papua New Guinea’s first son and Hawai‘is adopted son performs a large musical sampling from his newest 15-track work of art from Sharpnote Records, as well as a few of past hits.
Local reggae acts Red Degree, THC and Humble Soul will also be performing their melodic grooves for reggae heads and righteous vibe riders.
Pipeline Cafe, 805 Pohukaina St., Sat. 1/7, 9pm–1am, $10 advance, tickets at presale [ticket.com], Jelly’s (Aiea), Hungry Ear (Kailua), Aikane Kai (Hale‘iwa)
