im with you all the way i dont think i have ever heard of him singin and doin gigs in place like Madang, Hagen, Lae its always POM - its not like all of his fans have the $$$$.$$ to spend just to fly to POM for one night to watch him - common sense would be nice... I think the guy really has to get out and do a good tour of the country maybe then he can say that hes the “trupela kumul” he talks about

ok so ,...isn't getting a percentage of his CD?? I heard it cost an arm and a leg to hire him just for a night.. Do understand that there's allot of png supporters out there that are die hard fanS of OSHEN..

Yeah it does cost a lot of money to get the man to do a gig but if club and provinces want him they are going to pay the money. I have heard of so many clubs wanting him to do a gig and are willing and able to get the $$$ but CHM wont let him get out there. In the long run its him as an artist that is going to loose out… His so call loyal fans I don’t think will be so loyal and his face will just become something of the past – “trupela kumul bilong PNG” so wishful ! ! ! ! he spends most of his time over seas and when he is here he spends his time at the gateway nau why don’t you put that good money to use… maybe a tour?!?!?! Its just a matter of time until the fans just give up….

...should be the one organising the tour. He has sign with them so its up to them to promote them and get his music out here.... its not like they dont have the money i heard that they dont send him out to places like madang, hagen, lae cause hes not allowed something written about it in his contract. Really whats the point of him makin music in this country if he doesn’t even get out there --- ...really needs to get their act together....

Oshen,Straky and the ......... BAND was in Lae performing live at the Stadium during the PNG 30th Independence last year in September 2005, they flew back from Cairns after a very successful concert, and then perform in Port Moresby indoor stadium the next day and then continue the next morning to fly especially to Lae Morobe to perform there at the stadium for the PNG Independence Celebration for the people of Morobe because of Oshen love of the Morobe people!

i guess all that person is tryin to say is that they just need him to do more gigs around the country but yeah i hear that he will be back for the music awards in aug. and around that time he's going to be doing a gig in Lae also so fingers crossed he comes hey.

Just a thought.seeing that there's allot of solo artist's here and there..wouldn't it be nice to have a all girls group...I think it would be great!! I'm pretty sure there's so many PNG ladies out there who can sing ....PNG'S version of Destiny's child...rait olgeta...

ok so obviously you missed the plot there...the question was it would be nice to have a all girl group from PNG - not to sound MORE like her or destiny's child (beyonce) ..and we all know that no that no one hit the high notes like she does....
what about the upcoming male artist...have you heard them sing?? they sound damn good..

There are many factors that affect where and whether an artist tours. The bigest is cost. Every successful artist would love to tour and take their music out to the provinces but to take support, logistical and operational resources requires quite an undertaking. Just look at the current cost of airares in PNG, then accomodation for the band, its managers and technicians. The equipment, lighting, stage setting, speakers, mixers, cabling, monitors, swiching systems etc. etc. etc. make tours a real costly exercise. Remember that when you tour, the quality of sound is very important. It is not as if you can turn up at a gig, rab a guitar and start playing and for gigs like Oshen who only plays live with a full band, the undertakings are big.
I'm sure the CHM people have taken much of what is being said and I am told that Oshen also keeps a tab on this site an will be looking at the issues closely. I am also infomed that Rabaul will be getting to see a lot of Oshen this time around.
Keep the flame alive and when he is here, you won't be disappointed because the material will be refreshinly new.

I am the one who seems to be complaining everytime here coz I can't wait to come home to watch him. He is my hero and everytime, I sign in here as No.1 fan or Crazy Fan, or even saying things like, "Trupela Kumul" to O-shen coz he really is. I tell you, no one else can promote PNG the way this Kumul is doing. That's why as a patriot, I will be his No.1 fan till I die. I even queue up to be the first to purchase evey new album - of course I have all his songs from Rising Son, Rascal in Paradise, Faya, etc. I even have posters of him all over my room. I've put up this tread as "Frustrated" coz I am. I sometimes even send e-mails congratulating him but he doesn't respond, anywayzm, em orait. Above all, i believe in one thing, and that is Flying the Kumul beyond boundaries! Go boi!

U are obsessed obviously....if u are a girl then surly u are obsessed...not only because your are being a true patriot, but because he is just too good looking. He's white, had cool tatoos, all carved up, not to mention good looking and definately not married. It is true to a fact that 90% of all young woman who are his fans don't really go for his music but for his stunning looks and his popularuty through his music...believe me, me save..!! Just imagined if he was old, not as good looking and married...he would defintely have fans...but I doubt almost 50% would be young girls.

Hi Kumul 1. Obviously, you lost track. How do you know that I am a female...obviously you lack giving a fair view on my previous posting thinking that everybody who becomes O-shen's fan is a girl...I am a male and that's why I prove your intelligence wrong.
As mentioned, I put most of the postings up for O-shen because, of the very reason that I have mentioned at the bottom of my previous posting (if you have eyes, you'd read)...HE IS A TRUE AMBASSADOR..
Anyways, everyone is open to criticisms but my point is clear...I want to watch his next show in PNG coz I've been his fan since Day One just like everyone else. Do you know what? He doesn't care whether the Hawaiians understand Tok Pisin or not...em kukim na pairapim yet with the PNG Flag on his forehear, shirt, etc...that's why I call him "Trupela Kumul"
