no there not really, ones like bumpy the others smooth. But its personal prefrence really, for what side goes up. Bumpy=more grip, smooth= faster pass /shot. The warrior string manual tells you to put the bumpy side up while the stx tells you to put it down. So its up to you.

one side of the mesh has a crease down the middle, between any two holes.
the other 'bumpy' side is consistant.
i have used the non-crease side (bumpy side) and think it is much better because:
1. control. because its less smooth, the corseness gives traction
2. it tends to make a bucket-like pocket better, as oposed to a flatter and more shallow pocket with creases that do not mold well over time

YAH i agree with kevin. And who gives a sh** once your pockets worked in it wont matter anyways. It will be full of dirt and what have you it wont make a difference.
