A week after the best weekend in Lacrosse, I was sitting and thinking... Is it just me, or does the MLL just plain suck? I love Lacrosse (both field and box), yet I just can not get excited about the MLL. I was wondering what other Lacrosse fans thought about the MLL and I also wanted to voice a few complaints that I have with the league.

1) They want to make it a family affair. This is a sport (a contact sport at that!), not some PG movie. Let the athletes play and people will come to see them. Now I'm not saying we should let them fight, but you take some of the raw emotion away from the game when you try to make it family friendly.

2) The league needs to be more wide spread. I realize that the east coast is the mecca of Lacrosse, but how do you get new fans if they never get to see the game? Also I think it is harder to draw fans when you have so many teams so close together. It may be risky, but hit the big citys first and hopefully you will draw fans.

3) This is Lacrosse, not Basketball, there should be no "Best Trick Shot" at the All-star game. You can have stuff like fastest shot, etc., but I think the "trick shot stuff is just corny.

4) No more 2 point line, and I don't think the shot clock is good either. One again, this is Lacrosse not Basketball.

5) It seems to me Warrior has too much control over the league, but that may just be me...

I guess I've said enough, hope to hear what everyone else thinks.

1) Where are you getting that they want to make it a family affair? How is it worse than the NLL or the college game?

2) They already said they are putting in 4 west coast teams for 2006

3) You have a problem with the MLL because of 1 event in the all star game?

4) First, the NLL uses a shot clock too if I remember right, so why single out the MLL? And the 2 pointer gives the offense more depth, a reason to shoot from the outside, and can drastically affect game, so I dont see how that is taking away from the excitement of it.

5) Maybe because Warrior owns the league and essentially pays all their salaries?

you know, i dont really have a problem with the mll, but i think that field lacrosse isnt field lacrosse if it doesnt have the patience, working for your shot aspect of the game. the shot clock completly destroys that. its fine for box, because the field is quite a bit smaller, but i like watching teams like priceton play, and there style of game is impossible in the mll.

ya i think that the control of the pace ofthe game is like a key aspect of the game and thats what can determine the games in college, and i like that aspect. The one thing that i have against the MLL is that Warrior has complete control. This is just limiting the MLL's ablity to grow. Warrior doesnt have to be the only company thats payin the players. if Brine, Gait, and other lax companies were able to grow through the game, that means that the game will grow to. with that we can get more games played and more televised games. i think that that sounds pretty good.
